ProStar Sports: Long-time sports agent Paul Sheehy is battling Covid-19. Paul is a wonderful person. Mike Klis reports that Sheehy came down with high fever, tested positive on June 21st and has been on a ventilator since Friday. Please keep him in your prayers.
Williams College (D-III – MA): Williams College has announced it will not compete in any sports this fall, though the phasing in of practices will take place. Williams is the second NESCAC school to cancel its football season, joining Bowdoin College.

Western Carolina at Eastern Kentucky: This game has been moved from Saturday, Sept. 5 to Thursday, Sept. 3. Kickoff will be at 7 p.m. ET.

Rebuilding after a fire: Navy assistant Joe Battaglia home was destroyed over the weekend. Thankfully, Joe, his wife Kimberly and their new baby were unharmed. Please send good thoughts and prayers to the Battaglia’s. A Go Fund Me has been established to help them replace much of what was lost.
Dayton at Southeast Missouri: The schools jointly announced Monday that their Sept. 3 opener has been canceled. SEMO says it is looking for a replacement opponent.

Ball State: Head coach Mike Neu, who was entering the final year of his contract in 2020, has signed an extension, the school has announced. No official details were given, but the Indy Star reports that it’s a two-year contract extension that was signed last week and includes a base salary of $453k. Also, the assistant coach salary pool went up $30k from $110k to $140k, the report adds. In four seasons leading the team, Neu has gone 15-33 and has the team coming off the best season under his leadership where 5 of their 7 losses came by 10 points or less.

Chicago Bears: Per source, Donovan Jackson has accepted a Bill Walsh minority internship with the Chicago Bears. Jackson previously served as an intern with the Dolphins as as an offensive line assistant at Louisiana State.
Player boycott: Kansas State players have promised a boycott of all team activities if the University does not put a policy in place that allows a student to be dismissed for displaying openly racist, threatening or disrespectful actions toward a student or groups of students.
