FCS: The NCAA has approved a format for the spring FCS regular season and playoffs. Details here.

FBS & FCS rule change: Both subdivisions also adopted a proposal today that prohibits midyear enrollees from competing in the 2020-21 academic year.

Dead period: The NCAA also took action today extending the dead period through January 1, 2021. Members also adopted emergency legislation prohibiting schools from giving complimentary game tickets to prospective student-athletes and their high school or two-year college coaches during the dead period.

NCAA: The Division I Council approved a rule today prohibiting athletic activities on the first Tuesday after November 1 (election days).

Pac-12: The Governor of California says he has no rules prohibiting Pac-12 teams from playing. This feels like a very positive step; but it’s complicated. Update> Oregon’s Governor is falling in line as well! Let’s go!

Ohio State: The Buckeyes dropped a “We’re back” hype video, starring Michael Scott, Ron Burgundy, Jon Snow and Justin Fields.

Florida Atlantic: FAU returned to the practice field and intends to play Georgia Southern on Saturday, tweets Brett McMurphy.

North Texas: Former Tulsa and CFL quarterback Dane Evans has joined the staff as a GA.

Rutgers: So, the Big Ten announced the start date of their Fall season…and Rutgers promptly said, “Eh, we’ll see.”

President of the United States: Following the Big Ten’s announcement this morning, the President has offered his assistance to other conferences.

Illinois College (D-III): Per source, former Ole Miss student assistant Tyler Festa has joined the staff coaching the wide receivers.

Lackawanna (JC – PA): Lackawanna College is accepting applications for Wide Receiver Coach / resident advisor. Responsibilities include coaching the wide receiver unit, including meetings, monitoring students in the dormitories, and performing wellness checks. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to: film breakdown, data entry, recruiting, assisting with game preparation and other duties assigned by the head coach and Director of Residence Life. Applicants need to be experienced with Hudl, Excel, and Microsoft Power Point. This is an entry level position that will pay $5,000 from September-June with some meals and housing in the dormitory. Applicants within driving distance of Scranton, PA are encouraged to apply. This position is directed towards someone who is trying to begin a career in the coaching profession. This position will provide valuable experience and references for future opportunities. Previous coaches have used this position to springboard their careers to coordinator positions at the high school and college level. Mountain West: Commissioner Craig Thompson shared an update on his conference’s plans to return to the field.

Lackawanna (JC – PA): Lackawanna College is accepting applications for coaching interns. Responsibilities include assist in coaching a position, drill set up, game plan prep, aid in recruiting, and any other duties assigned by the head coach. Applicants need to be experienced with Photoshop, Hudl, Excel, and Microsoft Power Point. This is an entry level position that will provide no stipend. Applicants within driving distance of Scranton, PA are encouraged to apply. This position is directed towards someone who is trying to begin a career in the coaching profession. This position will provide valuable experience and references for future opportunities. Previous interns have used this position to springboard their careers to full time positions at the college and pro level. MAC: On the heels of the Big Ten returning this fall, MAC commissioner Jon Steinbercher shares that “Currently there are no plans to play a fall season in any sport. We are focused on providing our fall student-athletes meaningful competitive experiences in the spring.”

Northeastern Oklahoma A&M (JC): Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College is looking to hire a full-time Assistant Coach. Academic advising and academic supervising will be a main priority for this position. Preference will be given to an experienced Offensive Line Coach. Recruiting, film duties, practice planning, game planning, equipment, weight room, on field coaching, study hall, and any other duties assigned by the head coach or coordinators will be tied in with this position. West Virginia: Report details separation agreement between former defensive coordinator Vic Koenning and the Mountaineers.

Concord (D-II – WV): Concord University is looking for a defensive Graduate Assistant that will be starting in January 2021. Candidates need to have playing or coaching experience. Candidates need to be proficient in Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and Hudl. Weight room coaching experience is preferred as well.
