Illinois: Joe Schad reports "Espn.com reports Vic Koenning to Illinois after changing mind twice."

Murray State: We hear it's going down tonight. Our source tells us the AD is calling the final 3 candidates tonight to inform them of their decision.

Georgia: ESPN's Joe Schad just brought up that Georgia would be closer to home for Koenning. One of our sources tells us Koenning may still have a home in Orange Beach, AL.

Georgia: Our sources tell us Georgia is very much in play for Vic Koenning. We heard Koenning may want to bring Tulsa co-defensive coordinator / linebackers coach Ron West with him to help put in his system. A decision could be made later tonight or tomorrow. Illinois vs. UGA. West coached with Koenning at Clemson.

Furman: Our sources have just told us that Furman co-defensive coordinator Steve Wilson will not return. According to our source, safeties coach Jeff Farrington will become the new defensive coordinator.

Akron: A report in Akron says former Notre Dame quarterbacks coach Ron Powlus and former Notre Dame wide receiver David Grimes have joined the Akron staff. It appears Grimes will serve as a grad assistant.

Tennessee: We hear Kippy Brown will be the wide receivers / passing game coordinator at Tennessee.

Notre Dame: Our sources tell us running backs coach Tony Alford and DFO Chad Klunder will be retained.

Dana College: University of St. Mary offensive coordinator Jason Shumaker has accepted the head coaching job at Dana College.

Tennessee: It appears Tennessee is really close to hiring Kippy Brown as wide receivers coach.

UNLV: Arizona AD Jim Livengood will be introduced today as the new AD. It shouldn't take much longer for UNLV to hire a coach.

Northern State University: We are hearing Northern State has just named Southern Illinois linebackers coach Tom Dosch as head coach.

Central Michigan: FloridaToday is reporting CMU is expected to talk with Florida quarterbacks coach Scott Loeffler.

Georgia Southern: We hear Missouri State assistant John Scott Jr. has been hired at Georgia Southern. We heard Scott was on the road recruiting today.

Marshall: Doc Holliday has signed a five-year contract as head coach.

Washington Redskins: Bruce Allen will take over as GM.

Buffalo: Our sources tell us Wake Forest OC Steed Lobotzke will interview with Buffalo.

Memphis: University of Alabama intern, Sedrick Irvin, has accepted the running backs job at Memphis.

Winona State University: (NCAA Division II, Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference) located in Winona, MN has an immediate opening for a Defensive Graduate Assistant position. The Defensive Graduate Assistant will primarily work with the front seven. The position requires a highly motivated individual to assist with the implementation of practices, evaluation of prospective student athletes, off campus recruiting, film breakdown, scouting opponents, event management, fund raising, film editing and other duties assigned by the Head Coach. This individual needs to be have experience playing and/or coaching the defensive line or linebacker segments. Graduate Assistantships are awarded based on acceptance into Graduate School at Winona State University. This is a 10 month position with a $10,000 stipend and full tuition waiver. Minimum Requirements: 1). Overall undergraduate grade-point average of at least 2.5 based on a 4.00 scale. 2). Application for admission to the Masters of Science (M.S.) Program. Richmond: We hear Latrell Scott is interested in hiring UVA running backs coach Wayne Lineburg as OC. Lineburg was the OC at Richmond from 2004-2006.

Buffalo: We hear Buffalo will interview former Notre Dame assistant Corwin Brown.

Washington Redskins: GM Vinny Cerrato has resigned.

Portland State: Weber State defensive line coach Inoke Breckterfield has joined the staff as defensive line coach.

University of Redlands: Jeff Thomas is moving from offensive coordinator to defensive coordinator. Redlands HS assistant coach Bob Stangel has been hired as offensive coordinator.

Georgia: Mark Richt talked about the search for a new defensive coordinator yesterday. We thought it was interesting that he did not mention anything about bringing in or talking to a couple of guys to interview. He did say, "I'm open to championship-level defense, really. I'm not going to say I will not consider this scheme or that scheme or I have to have this scheme or that scheme. I won't do that, because there are different ways to skin it. And if you are really good at skinning it the way you do it, that's OK with me."
