New Orleans Saints: Defensive backs coach Wes McGriff, despite the offer of (and previous plans to accept had the contract been right) defensive coordinator position at Vanderbilt, has decided to remain with the Saints following consultation with Sean Payton.
Colorado State: Louisiana-Monroe running backs coach/recruiting coordinator Bryan Applewhite is joining Mike Bobo's staff. Alvis Whitted has also been retained per SI.
Georgia: The Bulldogs have added a year to defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt's contract and bumped his salary to $1.3 million a year. Beat writer Seth Emerson tweets that more raises are coming.
Philadelphia Eagles: The Eagles have announced that Chip Kelly will now have complete control over the draft and player personnel. Howie Roseman has been "elevated" to EVP of Football Operations but under a new structure announced just now, Chip Kelly will oversee personnel including hiring a new personnel executive. Richmond: Steed Lobotzke, who spent last season as the offensive coordinator / offensive line coach at Winston-Salem State, has been hired by Danny Rocco as the new offensive coordinator at Richmond. Lobotzke is the former offensive coordinator at Wake Forest, where he spent over a decade.
Tulsa: Baylor assistant director of operations Calvin Lowry, a former NFL'er with the Titans, Broncos and Jaguars will join Philip Montgomery's staff as receivers coach.
Central Arkansas: Per source, Southern Miss grad assistant Matt Kitchens has accepted the cornerbacks position at UCA.
Western State (D-II - CO): Western State is seeking applicants for the position of defensive line coach. This is a full-time, 12 month position with benefits. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): recruiting specific area, assisting with practice and game planning, film breakdown, and other administrative duties assigned by the Head Coach. Dan Quinn: Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn interviewed for the Jets head coaching job this morning, will interview for the Bears position tonight, with the Falcons on Saturday morning and with the Bill Saturday night, per Adam Schefter.
South Florida: Alonzo Hampton will join the staff as defensive backs coach per SI. Hampton, an assistant at Tift County HS (GA) coached the defensive backs for Taggart at Western Kentucky. We can confirm the hire.
Arkansas Monticello (D-II): Per source, Western State (D-II - CO) defensive line coach Quad Sanders has accepted the same position at Monticello.
Incarnate Word (FCS - TX): Per source, running backs coach Mike Briglin has left the staff.
Alabama State (FCS): Per source, longtime college and NFL assistant Ted Daisher will join Brian Jenkins staff at Alabama State.
Georgia: Athletic director Greg McGarity has told donors that he and Mark Richt are working on a contract extension. Will update.
Philadelphia Eagles: Chip Kelly has "expressed interest in getting out of his contract," according to Darren DeGaetano, formerly of WIP in Philly. We have reached out to sources and will update once more is concrete...
Green Bay Packers: The Packers have promoted Eliot Wolf to director of player personnel. Wolf had been serving as the director of pro personnel.
Nebraska: Reggie Davis, who coached the San Francisco 49ers tight ends for three seasons before transitioning to an assistant offensive line coach this past season, has been hired to coach the running backs at Nebraska, per Rivals. Prior to joining the Niners staff, Davis coached the running backs at Oregon State for three seasons, and has previous stops at UNLV and the University of San Diego. We have confirmed the hire.
New Orleans Saints: Receivers coach Henry Ellard, tight ends coach Terry Malone, and assistant defensive backs coach Andre Curtis have all been let go according to Ian Rapoport.
Josh McDaniels: Albert Breer is reporting that McDaniels is interviewing with the Falcons today and the 49ers tomorrow.
Colorado State: Mike Bobo has now announced the addition of Ronnie Letson (director of player personnel at Georgia) as quarterbacks coach, as expected. Also, Bobo has now officially announced that special teams coordinator Jeff Hammerschmidt and director of football operations Tom Ehlers have both been retained.
Dixie State (D-II - UT): Per source, Humboldt State (D-II - CA) defensive coordinator Shay McClure has accepted the defensive coordinator position at Dixie State.
Auburn: Corners coach Melvin Smith will not return per AL.com. We have been of the understanding for a few weeks that Travaris Robinson is coming to fill this role once Florida's bowl game is over (tomorrow). Will update...
NY Jets: According to Ian Rapoport, the Jets have interviewed Rod Graves (interim Jets GM), Trent Kirchner (Seahawks director of pro personnel), and Bill Kuharich (Browns executive chief of staff). Interviews with Eagles pro personnel director Rick Mueller (Sunday) and Texans college scouting director Mike Maccagnan (Monday) will take place over the next few days.
Winona State (D-II - MN): Winona State University is seeking applicants for a Defensive Graduate Assistant. Responsibilities of this position will be, but not limited to: coaching a position group, position meetings, film break down, recruiting, and all other duties deemed necessary as assigned by the head coach. Requirements for this position include a Bachelor’s Degree and the ability be accepted into the College of Education’s Graduate Program.
