Nebraska Wesleyan University: Our sources tell us linebackers coach / special teams coordinator Kevin Crume has been promoted to defensive coordinator.

Midland University (NE): Eric Inama has been promoted to defensive coordinator.

Nevada: AD Cary Groth has recommended a 2-year contract extension for head coach Chris Ault. If approved by the board, Ault's new contract would run through 2013.

Maryland: ESPN's Joe Schad reports Maryland is strongly considering asking Ralph Friedgen to retire and accept a buyout. Schad reports the leading candidate would be Mike Leach.

Snow College: Steve Coburn has been dismissed as head coach. Offensive coordinator Tyler Hughes has been promoted to head coach.

Angelo State: The job has now been narrowed down to Pierce Holt, Will Wagner (NW Missouri State - defensive backs), Steve Warren (Abilene HS - head coach), and Todd Whitten (former Tarleton State head coach).

IUP: Lou Tepper will not return as head coach.

Cal: We have learned that wide receivers coach Kevin Daft will not return.

New Mexico: Our sources tell us that former Bowling Green head coach Gregg Brandon will interview this weekend for the offensive coordinator position at New Mexico.

Pitt: Mike Haywood agreed to a 5-year deal worth $1.6 million per year. We are hearing that Haywood is trying to lure Akron assistant John Latina. Our sources told us last night that Miami (OH) linebackers coach Bill Elias and director of football operations Lauren Cavallaro will be joining Haywood at Pitt.

Florida: AD Jeremy Foley just said on the Joe Rose Show, "I see him keep some (current assistants). I don’t think he’s going to put his whole staff together until after the bowl game." Foley said Muschamp made a comment that a whole lot of game have been won around here, so there must be some pretty fine coaches on the staff.

Hastings College: Defensive coordinator Tony Harper will be promoted to head coach at Hastings College.

Howard University: Our sources tell us that two of the finalists for the Howard University head coaching job are Bowie State offensive coordinator Gary "Flea" Harrell and Dunbar HS (Washington, DC) head coach Craig Jefferies.
