Alcorn State: As we told you in December, Alcorn head coach Melvin Spears will not return. The school confirmed this today. They added that defensive line coach Todd McDaniel has been serving as interim head coach during their search. 

Kent State: Kent State just put out word that tight ends coach Dave McMichael will now also serve as special teams coordinator. 

Florida: Will Muschamp has agreed to a one year extension. Florida has exercised it's one year option to extend Muschamp's agreement. He's now under contract through the 2016 season. 

Midland (NAIA - NE): Former Midland head coach Casey Thiele has been hired as head coach at West Nassau High School in Florida. 

Cincinnati: Marshall University director of high school relations Mike Waugh has been hired as director of recruiting at Cincinnati. Waugh was a key guy at Marshall, as Doc Holliday put it, "Not many people are given the responsibilities he has and he does a hell of a job for us.

Bryant University (FCS - RI): Bryant University is looking to fill a line job (possibly offensive or defensive depending on fit). Interested coaches should email head coach Marty Fine at mfine@bryant.edu

UT Martin: We have confirmed that Mississippi State offensive grad assistant Eric Stuedemann has been hired as quarterbacks coach at UT Martin.

Alabama: We have learned that Purdue defensive grad assistant Jules Montinar has accepted a postion on the staff at Alabama (likely as defensive grad assistant). We hear that Purdue already has plans to fill the opening. 

Tampa Bay: Sources in Indy tell us that Tampa has filled their quaterbacks job. We haven't confirmed that he got it; but are aware that Ron Turner interviewed for it in Indy.

Stanford: As we told you yesterday, Pete Alamar is the new special teams coordinator. We have also learned that Stanford has hired Vae Tata as defensive intern (primarily working with the defensive line). Tata was the defensive grad assistant at San Jose State and previously worked with the UCLA staff where he played. 

Miami (OH): We have learned that Indiana defensive quality control Ron Carpenter is expected to be offered the defensive backs job at Miami (OH). 

Fort Hays State: Washburn defensive coordinator Cooper Harris has been hired as defensive coordinator at Fort Hays State.

Georgia Southern: Former Arkansas State defensive coordinator (who in January had agreed to become DC at Western Illinois) Kevin Corless has joined the Georgia Southern staff as linebackers coach. 

Eastern Washington: We have learned that former SEMO defensive backs coach Cherokee Valeria has accepted the defensive backs job at Eastern Washington. 

Colgate: Georgetown offensive line coach Brad Dunlay has accepted the offensive line job at Colgate.

Augustana (D-III - IL): We hear Augustana is no longer seeking resumes for their running backs job. We hear they are notifying their finalists and setting up interviews. 

Montana: Former Houston linebackers coach Leon Burtnett will now coach the safeties at Montana.
