Mississippi State: Dan Mullen is hiring former NFL assistant Brian Baker as defensive line coach. Baker spent this past season as an assistant coach / mentor at Covenant Christian Academy of Colleyville. Baker previously coached with the Redskins, Browns, Cowboys, Panthers, Rams, Vikings, Lions and Chargers. His last coaching stop in college was with Georgia Tech in '95.

Cumberland University (NAIA - TN): Cumberland University is now accepting applications for the position of graduate assistant coach for the 2016-2017 school year. Linebacker or secondary coaching/playing experience preferred. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to assisting in all aspects of the program, recruiting, evaluating, and mentoring student-athletes, promoting and marketing the program, participate in practices, developing and training, and fundraising. Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree, 3.0 undergraduate GPA, proficient in communication, leadership, and organization. Compensation includes room, board and tuition. No stipend. Arizona State: ASU has officially announced the addition of John Simon as running backs coach.

West Alabama: Chad Williams, who served as the defensive coordinator at Valdosta State (D-II - GA) last season, has joined the defensive staff and will coordinate the special teams.

Ohio Dominican (D-II): Ohio State offensive graduate assistant Matt Merritt will be the new running backs coach, per SI.

Hawaii: Lenoir-Rhyne (D-II - NC) secondary coach / special teams coordinator Mayur Chaudhari is joining the Hawaii staff as special teams coordinator, per a report from SI.

St. Joseph's (D-II - IN): Saint Joseph's College is no longer taking applicants for the assistant coach openings. Thank you for the overwhelming interest.

Scoop him up:Roy Roundtree just finished working as the wide receivers coach at Colorado State University-Pueblo (D-II). Was responsible for all wide receivers and in charge of meeting room where he prepared them for practice and games. His weekly responsibilities included organizing all of the passing game using Visio software, and he also managed breaking down film of opposing defenses for the offensive game plan. Prior to his time as a coach he spent time as a player in the NFL with the Cincinnati Bengals and in arena football with the Colorado Ice. His goal is to obtain a graduate assistant or quality control position in collegiate football. Roundtree worked alongside John Wristen, Jeff Hecklinski, and Gordy Shaw. Mount San Antonio College (JC - CA): Per source, former Whittier College (D-III - CA) wide receivers coach Cameron Deen has joined the staff and will coach the quarterbacks.

Cornell: With defensive backs coach Greg Jones joining the Wake Forest staff, Cornell has reassigned their defensive staff as follows; defensive coordinator Jared Backus will now coach the defensive backs, Travis Burkett will move from defensive line and will assist Backus with the secondary, Guido Falbo will move to linebackers, Satyen Bhakta will move to defensive line.

Sam Houston State: Gary McGraw and Justin Roberts have joined the staff, and tackles / tight ends coach Kyle Segler has been named special teams coordinator. McGraw (from Midwestern State) will coach the corners, and Roberts (who spent last season coaching the defensive line at Southern Miss) will handle the defensive line.

Utah: Former Ute quarterback Jordan Wynn has joined the staff in a recruiting position. The former quarterback coach / play caller at Hawaii spent last season as an offensive analyst at Fresno State. Former Ute center Tevita Stevens is also joining the staff in a similar capacity.

West Alabama (D-II): Source tells FootballScoop head coach Brett Gilliland is planning to hire former Hawaii & Idaho State offensive coordinator Don Bailey as offensive coordinator / quarterbacks. Bailey was the 2014 FCS Coordinator of the Year while at Idaho State.

Valdosta State (D-II - GA): Florida defensive grad assistant Justin Hinds will be the new defensive line coach at Valdosta State, per source.

Fordham (NY): Offensive line coach Tyler Bowen has been promoted to offensive coordinator source tells FootballScoop.

Utah State: Former ULM assistant Mike Cross has accepted an offensive assistant position at Utah State.

Dallas Cowboys: Linebackers coach Matt Eberflus has added the title of defensive pass game coordinator. Also, Marc Colombo will be the assistant offensive line coach and Steve Loney will serve as the senior offensive assistant, working with the offensive line and tight ends.

Akron: The University of Akron football team is seeking a student assistant to work on the defensive side of the ball beginning this Spring. The student assistant will be responsible for assisting the defensive staff with various duties including practice and game day play charting, film analysis and breakdown, and creation of weekly scouting reports. Stonehill College (D-II - MA): Sources tell FootballScoop that Stonehill has hired Zachary Sparber as the new defensive line coach. Sparber spent last season as a student-assistant at Brown where he was also a player, and captain. We understand that Ken Goodwin will now coach the linebackers.

Carolina Panthers: All returning members of the Panthers staff have received two-year contract extensions, plus John Matsko, who has served as offensive line coach since 2011, has been promoted to run game coordinator and Rya Brown (who served as Matsko's assistant the past five seasons) has been promoted to offensive line coach. Also, Richard Rodgers and Curtis Fuller will remain on as assistant defensive backs coaches, but Rodgers will focus on the safeties and Fuller will continue to work with the nickel backs, and will drop the special teams assistant portion of his title.

New England Patriots: New England has named Dave Ziegler their new pro personnel director. He takes over for Bob Quinn who left to take the GM position with the Detroit Lions.

Kansas: Former Rice defensive line coach Michael Slater has officially joined the staff, replacing Calvin Thibodeaux, who left for Oklahoma.

Valdosta State (D-II - GA): University of Florida defensive graduate assistant James Rowe has accepted the defensive coordinator position at Valdosta State University source tells FootballScoop.

Notre Dame: Former South Dakota (FCS) corners coach & former Southern University (FCS - LA) special teams coordinator Marty Biagi is joining the Notre Dame staff as special teams analyst. Biagi received special mention among the 2014 Finalists for the FootballScoop Special Teams Coordinator of the Year.

Vanderbilt: Per source, Corey Guymon has joined the Vandy staff as a defensive analytics graduate assistant position (an off-the-field role). Guymon is a former Ole Miss student assistant.

West Virginia Wesleyan (D-II): Per source, former Virginia Tech defensive graduate assistant Justin King is joining the staff as defensive line coach.

Chaffey College (JC - CA): Craig Robbins has been hired to coach the team's running backs. Robbins most recently served as the the running backs / tight ends coach at East Los Angeles College (JC - CA).

Clarion (D-II - PA): Per source, Clarion has hired West Georgia (D-II) offensive line coach Brice Carlson as their new offensive line coach.

Citrus College (JC - CA): Former Western Christian HS (CA) head coach Scotty Kirkpatrick is the new linebackers coach at Citrus College, per source.

Reedley College (JC - CA): Head coach Randy Whited is retiring and the school has posted the head coaching job. Whited had been at the school since 1990.

Alabama A&M: Per source, Travis Pearson will be the new defensive coordinator / defensive backs coach. Pearson was previously the defensive coordinator at South Alabama. Also, former Santa Monica College (JC - CA) offensive coordinator Ryan O'Hara will coach the wide receivers.
