After a game (well practice actually) changing visit for a number of programs last week, Scott (@FootballScoop) and Mike (@Go_Rout) are visiting North Carolina, Duke, Clemson, and Auburn today and tomorrow.

Jacksonville Jaguars: On top of the additions of Monte Kiffin and former Penn State offensive coordinator John Donovan (see below), the Jags have also added John Benton as an assistant offensive line coach. Benton spent the past two seasons as the offensive line coach for the Miami Dolphins.

Columbia: The program has formally announced the additions of former Union College (D-III - NY) head coach John Audino and New Hampshire wide receivers coach Ricky Santos. Audino spent the last 24 seasons leading the Union College program and will serve as tight ends coach and Santos will coach the quarterbacks.

UCLA: Washington State offensive graduate assistant Chris Reinart, who was promoted to offensive quality control back in January, is now working as a special teams analyst at UCLA. Reinart was a defensive GA for the Bruins from 2011-2013.

Wartburg (D-III - IA): Wartburg College is searching for an offensive intern to coach one of the skill position groups and recruit. Position is compensated $10,400 and a 6 meal/wk plan. Interested candidates should send information to

Northern Illinois: Rod Carey is planning to hire former Tennessee Titans offensive line coach Bob Bostad in the same capacity. Prior to joining the Titans Bostad spent two seasons with the Bucs, and prior to that was at Wisconsin from 2006-2011. Update: We hear Bostad will likely coach tight ends and the Huskies will likely adjust the rest of their staff assignments. We're told NIU offensive line coach Joe Tripodi will remain on staff.


Glendale CC (CA): Per source, assistant head coach / offensive coordinator David Machuca has accepted the same position at Village Christian HS (CA).

Illinois: The program has formally announced the addition of Thad Ward as running backs coach.

Scoop him up:Paytton Hobbs recently wrapped up his time as a graduate assistant at Ottawa University (NAIA - KS) where he coached the linebackers (including one All-American and five All Conference guys), served as video coordinator and also coordinated the kick off team. Prior to that, Hobbs was a defensive coordinator with the USA Football National Development Games on Team Silver, where he also coached the linebackers. Coach Hobbs also has experience as a recruiting and operations intern at Middlebury College and as an assistant linebackers coach / quality control coach at Castleton University. While in the coaching profession, Hobbs (who also has experience volunteering in the Special Olympics) has build relationships with Bo McDougall, Bob Ritter, and Kent Kessinger. Louisiana-Lafayette: Per source, Mike Desormeaux is joining ULL's staff as receivers coach. The former Cajuns quarterback is currently the head coach at Ascension Episcopal High School in Louisiana.

Ferris State (D-II - MI): Kyle Nystrom has been hired as co-defensive coordinator / linebackers coach and Sam Parker has joined the staff as offensive line coach, per source. Parker is a former offensive lineman with the program.

TCU: Sources tell FootballScoop that Mike Bethea (who has served as a graduate assistant at Nevada and Washington State) is joining the TCU staff, most likely in a GA or quality control capacity on the defensive side of the ball.

West Georgia (D-II): The University of West Georgia is looking to fill a offensive graduate assistant position. The candidate must have experience working on the offensive side of the football. This position will receive housing, tuition in a master’s program, meal plan, and monthly stipend. Green Bay Packers: The Packers have promoted scouts Eliot Wolf to director of football operations and Brian Gutekunst to director of player personnel.

Jacksonville Jaguars: Per Adam Schefter, the Jags have hired Monte Kiffin as a defensive assistant coach. Kiffin most recently served as the assistant head coach for defense with the Dallas Cowboys, and was the defensive coordinator for the franchise in 2013. Additionally, the team has announced that former Penn State offensive coordinator John Donovan has joined the organization an offensive quality control coach.

Dakota Wesleyan (NAIA - SD): Per source, Wheaton College (D-III - IL) wide receivers coach Kyle Buresh has accepted the quarterbacks / wide receivers job at Dakota Wesleyan.

Yale: Yale is no longer accepting applications for the defensive intern spot. Thank you for the overwhelming interest in the position.

Buffalo: The University at Buffalo is accepting applications for an anticipated graduate assistant position working on defense with either DBs or LBs. Candidates should have some level of coaching and/or playing experience at either of these positions, and must be admissible to graduate school. Responsibilities include assist in coaching a position, film breakdown, recruiting, monitoring and mentoring the academic progress of student-athletes, and other duties as assigned. North Coast Heat (Australia): The North Coast Heat of the National Gridiron League are accepting applications for the following two (2) positions; quarterbacks and offensive line. One these positions will also carry the offensive coordinator duties. Collegiate coaching experience is required. Compensation package will include the following: Salary ($2,500US/month), shared housing, insurance, retirement contribution, travel to/from Australia, and use of 2 shared autos with other assistant coaches.
