Kentucky State (D-II): Kentucky State has taken the interim tag off head coach Josh Dean, naming him to the position full-time.

Texas: The UT Board of Regents has approved athletics director Steve Patterson's five year, $7 million contract according to Chip Brown of Orangebloods.com.

Northwest Mississippi CC: Jack Wright, who spent last season as the offensive line coach at Holmes CC, has been named head coach at Northwest CC. Prior to his stint at Holmes CC, Wright spent four seasons as the offensive coordinator at Northwest.

Atlanta Falcons: General manager Thomas Dimitroff said Sunday, "Mike Smith is a hell of a football coach; he's the leader of this team....Mike's going nowhere." Dimitroff's response was a retort to a report from CBS that said Gruden would be interested in the Falcons job were it to open (Falcons are 2-7).

Illinois: Here's an update at Illinois.

Houston Texans: Gary Kubiak is at the facility today. The NFL Network reports that he is working; but isn't expected to spend a full day at that facility today. Glad to hear he's healthy enough to return to work.
