Southwest Mississippi CC (JC): St. Joseph's College (D-II - IN) receivers coach Jason Phillips has been hired as offensive coordinator at Southwest Mississippi. 

Auburn: Willie Martinez has been hired to coach the corners. 

Montana: Student assistant and former player and NFL running back Justin Green has been named running backs coach filling the spot of Mick Delaney who recently retired. 

Temple: Multiple sources telling us today to look for former Boston College offensive coordinator Kevin Rogers to join Steve Addazio's staff as quarterbacks coach. 

Tampa Bay: Butch Davis was announced today as "special assistant to the head coach". It's complicated; but due to certain contractual provisions with North Carolina...

Colorado State: We have learned that UTEP safeties coach Al Simmons will be named defensive coordinator at Colorado State. Simmons was at UTEP for one season, and served as the defensive backs coach at Cal for three seasons prior to that. 

Iowa Wesleyan (NAIA): We hear St. Scholastica (D-III - MN) defensive coordinator Tom Parkevich has been named head coach at Iowa Wesleyan. 

NC State: Unconfirmed at this moment; but sources telling us that Air Force running backs coach Des Kitchings will be named running backs coach at NC State. 

Atlanta Falcons: Director of college scouting David Caldwell has been promoted to director of player personnel and Dejuan Polk has been promoted from pro scout to director of pro scouting. 

Western Illinois: We hear that Western interviewed Wheaton College offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Joe Davis over the weekend for their quarterbacks job. 

Boston College: Columbia receivers coach Aaron Smith will join the BC staff in the same capacity and Elon defensive line coach Al Washington will join the staff as defensive line / assistant special teams. As we told you over the weekend, Sean Desai will coach the running backs and coordinate the special teams. 

Chabot College (JC - CA): Chabot is seeking applicants for Offensive Line coach. Position includes stipend. Looking to fill quickly. Interested candidates should send resume and references to Head Coach Danny Calcano at

Western Carolina: Former North Carolina safeties coach Steve Sisa has been hired as defensive backs coach at Western Carolina; and as we told you nearly a month ago, Curtis Walker has now officially been named defensive coordinator. 

North Texas: Please keep Dan McCarney and his family in your prayers. We understand Dan has suffered a stroke. We will update you once we have more information. Update> North Texas has issued a statement saying he is in the hospital undergoing tests and that they will update us further once a proper diagnosis has been made and the family approves a release. Until such time, please keep Dan in your prayers. 

Kansas City Chiefs: The Star Ledger reported this morning that New York Giants assistant offensive line coach Jack Bicknell Jr. will be named offensive line coach for the Chiefs. 

Central Oklahoma: Haven't confirmed; but we keep hearing former Birmingham Southern offensive coordinator Chris Martin will be named offensive coordinator at UCO. Update> We have now confirmed. 

Simon Fraser: We have learned that former Weber State quarterbacks / passing game coordinator Jason Beck has been hired as offensive coordinator at Simon Fraser. Beck previously spent time on the staffs at LSU and BYU as well. 

Cincinnati Bengals: The Bengals have promoted Paul Guenther to linebackers coach and have hired former Jets DL coach and Ravens defensive backs coach Mark Carrier as defensive backs coach. 

Augustana College (D-III - IL): Augustana is seeking applicants for the position of football intern - running backs coach. Compensation will be in the range of $10,000 - $12,000. Food and housing are not included. Anticipated start date is August 1, 2012 and interested cadidates should expect to work through the conclusion of spring practice in May due to planned involvement with recruiting. Knowledge of video editing software is preferred. Bachelor's degree required. Northeast Oklahoma: We have learned that former Northwest Missouri State grad assistant Ryan Schleusner has accepted the offensive line job at NEO. 

Rutgers: Kyle Flood has announced all of the hires we've told you about...Dave Brock (offensive coordinator / receivers), Rob Spence (quarterbacks), Ben Sirmans (running backs), Darnell Dinkins (tight ends), Damian Wroblewski (offensive line) and Dave Cohen (linebackers)...and the promotion of Robb Smith to defensive coordinator, Phil Galiano to special teams coordinator and Jeremy Cole from assistant strength coach to head strength coach. 

Green Bay: The Packers have hired former Tampa Bay quarterbacks coach Alex Van Pelt as their running backs coach. 

Florida: Multiple sources telling us this morning that Utah tackles / tight ends coach Tim Davis has resigned to accept a position at Florida. We'll bring you the details as we get them. Update> Sources tell us that Davis will coach the offensive line, replacing Frank Verducci. Davis has previously worked on the same staff with Muschamp for one season with the Dolphins and several seasons with Brian White at Wisconsin. 

Oakland Raiders: We hear Texas A&M defensive line coach Terrell Williams has now agreed to join the Raiders staff in the same capacity. 

Detroit Lions: Former Tennessee Titans secondary coach Marcus Robertson is joining the Lions' staff as assistant defensive backs coach according to FoxSports. 

Ouachita Baptist (D-II - AR): We hear former Central Oklahoma defensive line coach Tyler Caid has been hired to fill the defensive line slot at OBU (see below).

NFL: Sit down before you read the rest of this one...Sports Business Journal is reporting that by the end of Roger Goodell's new five year extension, he'll be making at least $20 million per year. That's, ahem, a lot; but here's the really sickening part...According to SBJ, the commissioners of both MLB and the NBA make more than that and the commissioner of the NHL makes nearly $10 million per year. 

Pebble Beach: Scott, who runs FootballScoop, once shot a 92 through 17 on Pebble. 18 didn't go so well. Still waiting on his first invite to play the Pro-Am. As for those that did play...Bob Stoops (playing with Hunter Haas) tied for fourth place this weekend. Bill Belichick (playing with Ricky Barnes) finished third. Nick Saban's pairing did not make the cut. 

Ouachita Baptist (D-II - AR): Sources tell us to look for defensive coordinator Shep Campbell to now also coach the defensive backs. We also hear defensive line coach Roy Thompson will move to linebackers. We hear the defensive line job has been filled. Will keep you posted. 

UConn: University of Buffalo athletic director Warde Manuel was named AD at UConn yesterday.

Titles...Mike Norvell (offensive coordinator / quarterbacks), Bob Connelly (offensive line / assistant head coach), Larry Porter (running backs), DelVaughn Alexander (receivers / passing game coordinator), Chip Long (tight ends / recruiting coordinator), Paul Randolph (defensive coordinator / defensive line / senior associate head coach), Ron West (co-defensive coordinator / inside linebackers), Joe Lorig (outside linebackers / defensive special teams coordinator) and Chris Ball (defensive backs / defensive passing game coordinator).

Weber State: We hear John L. Smith has 7 of his 9 assistants in place. He has retained Matt Hammer (offensive coordinator), Cecil Thomas (offensive line) and Colton Swan (linebackers). New hires include Justin Rascati (quarterbacks - high school offensive coordinator in KY...played under John L.), Craig Stutzmann (wide receivers - was coaching the receivers at Rhodes College), Jason Belford (defensive line - former WSU grad assistant) and Eric Lewis (defensive backs - formerly of Eastern Michigan, Louisville, the Packers, etc...).
