Savannah State: Five coaches have joined Steve Davenport's staff at Savannah State. Former Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Terance Mathis (offensive coordinator / inside receivers), Thomas Balkcom (defensive backs), former Edward Waters assistant William Bell (running backs), Lakeside HS assistant Greg Lester (outside receivers / assistant head coach), and former Bethune-Cookman assistant C. Angelo Wyatt (linebackers) have all been hired.

Lincoln University (MO): Our sources tell us that Lincoln University has offered the head coaching job to Southern University (LA) linebackers coach Mike Jones.

Missouri Southern State: We have learned that former Western Illinois assistant defensive backs coach Kevin Almlie has accepted the corners job at Missouri Southern State. 

Lincoln University (MO): We have learned Lincoln University made an offer today to a head coaching candidate. We'll try to get an update shortly.

Dallas Cowboys: Former Cleveland Browns linebackers coach Matt Eberflus accepted the linebackers job with the Cowboys.

Cleveland Browns: The Browns have hired former Cardinals defensive coordinator Bill Davis as linebackers coach.

Vanerbilt: Bowling Green defensive line coach Sean Spencer has joined the Vandy staff as defensive line coach. Also, Kevin Threlkel, who served on the Maryland staff last season, has joined the staff as offensive administrative assistant. Threlkel once served as a student-assistant at Kansas State.

Texas: Mack Brown and Manny Diaz will coordinator the special teams. Major Applewhite will handle the kick-off return unit. Oscar Giles will head up the kick-off coverage team.

Northern Arizona: Our sources tell us former Northern Arizona player Zac McNally has accepted the defensive grad assistant job at Northern Arizona.

Tennessee Titans: Mort reports that former Dallas Cowboys wide receivers coach Ray Sherman will interview for the head coaching job. According to Mortensen, the Titans should have their guy by Thursday. Mike Munchak is the leading candidate.

Cincinnati Bengals: Mort is reporting that Marvin Lewis has met with Brad Childress. Childress could be the successor to Bob Bratkowski.

Gannon University: Head coach Jim Kiernan has agreed to a new contract through the 2013-14 academic year.

Urban Meyer: Urban Meyer will work a weekly game next Fall for ESPN. His additional duties include appearances on College Football Live, College GameDay, ESPN Radio, select bowl games, and SportsCenter.

Carolina Panthers: Tennessee Titans wide receivers coach Fred Graves has accepted the wide receivers job with the Panthers.

University of Windsor (Canada): Head coach Mike Morencie will not return.

Cincinnati Bengals: Marvin Lewis has dismissed offensive coordinator Bob Bratkowski.

Southern Miss: Our sources tell us that Southern Miss has talked with former University of Florida wide receivers coach Zach Azzanni regarding the wide receivers job.

Howard Payne University (TX): Hunter Sims has accepted the defensive backs / recruiting coordinator job. Also, our source tells us that Tyler Junior College assistant Courtney Farrell accepted the defensive line job at Howard Payne University.

Cleveland Browns: We are hearing that former Miami (FL) offensive coordinator Mark Whipple has accepted the quarterbacks job with the Cleveland Browns.

Colorado: Jon Embree has hired former Colorado player Jeff Smart as defensive grad assistant.

Oakland Raiders: We are hearing that former Denver Broncos offensive line coach Bob Wylie accepted the offensive line job with the Raiders.

High School Scoop: We are expecting another big week on the High School Scoop.

Lake Forest College: We have learned that Briar Cliff University assistant Ted Soenksen has accepted the offensive line job at Lake Forest College.

Carolina Panthers: Our sources tell us Chicago Bears defensive line coach Eric Washington has accepted the defensive line job at Carolina. We are hearing the Bears are targeting Seattle Seahawks defensive assistant Mike Phair for the defensive line job.

Boston College: We hear Terry Shea is interested in the Boston College offensive coordinator / quarterbacks job. Shea last coached with the St. Louis Rams in 2008. He is now preparing Blaine Gabbert for the 2011 NFL Draft.
