LSU: As expected, yesterday the LSU Board of Supervisors approved contract extensions for both Les Miles and athletic director Joe Alleva. Alleva's base pay was increased from $350,000 to $525,000 (note that Alleva also receives an additional $200,000 per year in supplemental pay). Alleva may earn up to an additional $50,000 per year if the University ranks in the top 20 in the standings of the NACDA Director's Cup and an additional $50,000 per year if all athletic programs achieve an APR of 925 or higher. Miles' contract now runs through December 2017. His base pay remains $3,751,000. Incentives include: $100,000 if they reach the SEC Championship game, $100,000 additional if they win that game, $100,000 additional for a non-BCS bowl appearance, $200,000 for a BCS bowl (including the championship game) appearance and a victory in the BCS championship game would earn him another $100,000. Miles' agreement also stipulates that should his team with the BCS championship that his pay would be raised to $1,000 more than the highest paid SEC coach (currently Nick Saban at just over $5 million).
