Southeastern LA: We have been told that Mississippi Gulf Coast head coach Steve Campbell has told his staff that he is staying and will not take the Southeastern job. The word remains that compensation for the assistants is a major issue at Southeastern. 

Colorado State: We have learned that Jim McElwain has spoken with SMU defensive coordinator Tom Mason about becoming defensive coordinator at CSU. 

Colorado State: We have learned that Pat Meyer, offensive coordinator / offensive line, will not be retained. 

Florida State: For what it's worth, multiple outlets are reporting that Mark Stoops plans to remain with the Seminoles for next season. 

UTEP: We have learned that Midwestern State co-offensive coordinator Brian Natkin (a finalist for FootballScoop D-II Coordinator of the Year) will join the UTEP staff. Natkin was an all-american tight end at UTEP. 

Midland University (NAIA - NE): We hear Wisconsin Whitewater quarterbacks coach Josh Gehring has accepted the head coaching position at Midland. 

Houston: After Dave Christensen informed Houston officials that he planned to stay at Wyoming, we hear they are speaking with Sonny Dykes, among others. There is a strong contingent that would like to see Tony Levine get the job as well. 

Southern Miss: Sources tell us that as of yesterday, the administration planned to speak again with Ellis Johnson, Chris Hatcher and current offensive coordinator Blake Anderson. 

Wyoming: We have learned that Wyoming officials presented Dave Christensen with a significant new agreement late last night and he has agreed to remain in Laramie. 

Akron: We have learned that the administration is very impressed with Temple offensive coordinator Scot Loeffler. Loeffler grew up minutes from the stadium. 

Central Oklahoma: Sources tell us Central Oklahoma is strongly considering Jenks High head coach Alan Trimble. 

FAU: We have learned that former Fort Scott Community College head coach Jeff Sims will join Carl Pelini's staff at FAU.

Yesterday, Jean Bruce, wife of Hall of Fame coach Earle Bruce, passed away. Please keep their family in your prayers.
