Texas: Charlie Strong has made it official. He is the new head coach at the University of Texas.

Itawamba (CC - MS): Sources tell us Faulkner (NAIA - AL) offensive coordinator Nick Coleman has accepted the same position at Itawamba.

Miami (OH): Sources tell us that Western Michigan grad assistant Drew Engels has accepted a grad assistant position on Chuck Martin's staff.

Texas A&M: Nebraska defensive backs coach Terry Joseph says he has been offered the defensive backs job at Texas A&M. We have no reason to believe that he won't accept it; but it is not official yet.

Penn State: Sources continue to tell us that James Franklin will interview tomorrow with Penn State.

Texas: ESPN is reporting that Charlie Strong is expected to be announced as the new head coach at Texas tomorrow (with a press conference Monday).

Eastern Illinois (FCS): Louisiana Tech defensive coordinator Kim Damron confirmed to JG-TC.com he is a candidate for the Eastern Illinois head job. Damron was Eastern Illinois' defensive coordinator for its trip to the FCS playoffs in 2000. As we previously reported, Bill Legg is a strong candidate. The Journal Gazette also mentions Curt Mallory, Mickey Matthews, Lance Leipold and Jimmie Dougherty as "other possibilities".

Why Jim Mora said no to Texas

Tennessee Titans: Head coach Mike Munchak has been let go according to Chris Mortensen. Here's what you need to know. The organization has dismissed the entire coaching staff according to Albert Breer of NFL Network. Update> We hear it is premature to say that all of the assistants have been let go.

Penn State: Al Golden will interview with Penn State today according to Brett McMurphy. The interview was pushed back a day due to inclement weather in Pennsylvania.

James Franklin: James Franklin has been asked to interview by both the Redskins and the Browns per Adam Schefter who adds that Franklin interviewed weeks ago for the Texans job as well. Will be interesting to see if Franklin chooses to meet with Penn State officials as we were told he would. Still think there is a good chance that happens.

Houston Texans: Marvez also reports that Brian Ferentz (Iowa) is a strong candidate for offensive line coach and as the entire world has reported that George Godsey (Patriots) is a strong candidate for offensive coordinator.

While you are waiting on Charlie to accept, watch Gary Pinkel get his groove on

Tampa Bay: Southern Miss offensive coordinator Marcus Arroyo will accept the quarterbacks job with the Bucs (and Jeff Tedford) per Alex Marvez.

Texas: Charlie Strong has not formally accepted the offer from Texas yet.

Houston Texans: Bill O'Brien has let the entire former staff go and will bring Romeo Crennel on as defensive coordinator Alex Marvez reports.

UConn: FIU special teams coordinator Kevin Wolthausen will join the UConn staff as defensive line / recruiting coordinator per source.

North Dakota: Southern Illinois linebackers coach Eric Schmidt has now formally been announced as defensive coordinator.

Weber State: Sources tell us Wisconsin assistant director of operations Kite Afeaki has been hired as defensive tackles coach at Weber State.
