Alabama: Former USC head coach Steve Sarkisian will join Alabama's staff this week as a special assistant according to Clay Travis (both Travis and Sark are affiliated with Fox Sports). Sark was set to work games for Fox Sports this season; but this move would reunite him with Lane Kiffin and his former defensive assistant at Washington, Tosh Lupoi. Saban plays to win.

Houston: Athletic director Hunter Yurachek told reporters during halftime of today's game against Oklahoma that Tom Herman will receive a $5 million bonus "if Houston ever joins a Power 5 conference," according to ESPN. "We want him to be our coach for the very long term. It was a special memo between Coach Herman and myself. It's not officially in his contract, but I'd be glad to share it with you. It is legally binding. It's a memo from myself to coach Herman. The university will honor that. It's got my signature and his signature as employees of the University of Houston." Herman led the Coogs to a 33-23 over the Sooners.
