Florida Atlantic: Lane Kiffin tells SI that he's hiring former Baylor offensive coordinator Kendal Briles as offensive coordinator. More on the hire here.

Fresno State: Sources tell FootballScoop that Eastern Michigan offensive coordinator Kalen DeBoer and offensive line coach Ryan Grubb are joining Jeff Tedford's staff.

ECU: Defensive backs coach Rick Smith has decided to retire. Smith spent 36 seasons coaching at the collegiate level, and nine with the Pirates staff.

New York Jets: Head coach Todd Bowles has been hospitalized with an undisclosed illness and did not make the team's flight for tomorrow's game at New England. The team notes Bowles is in stable condition, but it's unclear if he will coach the game.

Abilene Christian (FCS - TX): ACU has announced Tremaine Jackson as its defensive coordinator. Jackson spent the 2016 season as the defensive coordinator at Sioux Falls (D-II - SD) and took the same position at Lindenwood (D-II - MO) before joining the Abilene Christian staff.

Ole Miss: Ole Miss has formally announced the additions of Matt Lubick (WRs) and Bradley Dale Peveto (LBs / STC).

Buffalo Bills: Bills GM Doug Whaley tells WGR 550 that management and ownership has not issued a statement backing head coach Rex Ryan because "we're focused on the games." Ryan and the Bills are currently 7-7 and in third place in the AFC East.

Ferris State (D-II): Sources tell FootballScoop that special teams coordinator Jack Schugars is joining his son's staff at Traverse City Central HS (MI). Prior to joining Tony Annese's staff at Grand Rapids Community College, and then Ferris State, Schugars enjoyed an outstanding high school career at Oakridge HS (MI) where he led to program for 32 seasons, he accumulated 262 wins, 19 conference titles, three state titles, and secured a place in the Michigan High School Football Coaches Hall of Fame.

Lindsey Wilson (NAIA - KY): Phil Kleckler, the defensive coordinator at Benedictine (D-III - IL) has been hired as the program's new defensive coordinator, per sources.

Fresno State: Tony Tuioti has joined the Fresno State staff as defensive line coach. Tuioti spent the past season at Michigan as director of player personnel after two years with the Browns in a quality control assistant role.

UC Davis (FCS): Tim Plough has joined Dan Hawkins' staff as offensive coordinator. Plough is a former UC Davis quarterback and assistant coach that spent the past four seasons at Northern Arizona, most recently as the offensive coordinator.

Oregon State: Pitt athletic director Scott Barnes has formally been announced as Oregon State's new vice president and director of athletics. Barnes previously served as the athletic director at Utah State, and had been at Pitt since April of 2015.
