Coastal Carolina: Head coach Joe Moglia will take a five-month medical leave and miss the 2017 season, per Pete Thamel. Offensive coordinator and associate head coach Jamey Chadwell will step in as interim coach. Moglia, who is 51-15 leading the program, missed Sun Belt Media Day this week after suffering broncial asthmatic reaction to allergies, and doctors are confident that five months focusing on his health will take care of any issues. Bethany College (D-III - WV): Bethany College is seeking qualified applicants for the positions of Intern, Football program. This position will report to the Head Football Coach and will coach the running backs. Duties will include coaching, recruiting and fundraising. Additional duties may be assigned by the head coach or the director of athletics. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, a valid driver's license, and playing experience at the collegiate level. Preference will be given to applicants with previous experience coaching at the collegiate or high school level. Knowledge of and adherence to Bethany, NCAA Division III, and Presidents' Athletic Conference rules and regulations are also required. Compensation includes stipend, room and board, and tuition waiver into Bethany’s MAT program. The selected candidates must be enrolled in Bethany's MAT program as a condition of employment. Norwich (D-III - VT): Norwich University has two immediate full time openings. Preferably DBs and RBs, but looking to hire the best candidates. These are 10 month positions with a comprehensive benefits package. The position will be responsible for coaching their own position group, recruiting an assigned area, and any additional responsibilities assigned by the head coach and/or athletic director. There is a possibility of assisting with a spring sport as well. Minnesota-Crookston (D-II): The University of Minnesota-Crookston, a D2 program in Northwest MN, has an immediate opening for an intern position. This is an unpaid position that does not provide housing or meals but will be expected to coach a position group. The best candidate will be considered regardless of position. High school and young coaches looking to get into the college level are encouraged to apply. Interested candidates should send a resume, cover letter, and a short list of references to Tom Miller at tmiller1@umn.edu. Sanford (FCS - AL): Per source, Hunter MacKay has been promoted to director of player personnel and Cody Spoon has been hired as Social Media Director for football.

Jon Gruden: The former Bucs and Raiders head coach turned analyst is interested in coaching again at the NFL level, according to an interview he did with PewterReport. In the interview, Gruden explains why he has no interest in college football, and that the reason he's up at 4am every day is because he still has the itch to coach at the NFL level, adding, "I am – every year – preparing myself to coach."

Southern Oregon (NAIA): Head coach Charlie Hall has rounded out his staff with the additions of offensive line coach Kyle Otineru and linebackers coach Carlton Hall. Otineru, who played and coached at Linfield (D-III - OR) previously, joins the staff after recently taking a position at Buena Vista (NAIA - IA) and spent the 2015 and 2016 season coaching the offensive line and serving as run game coordinator at Hastings College (NAIA - NE). Hall is a former All-SEC linebacker at Vanderbilt who most recently coached at Northwest Oklahoma State.

Missouri Valley (NAIA - MO): Missouri Valley College, located in Marshall, MO is seeking applicants for a graduate assistant working with the offensive side of the football. Compensation includes: room, board, and tuition (no stipend). Position includes but is not limited to: working with an offensive position group (will determine based off of applicants), strength and conditioning background is a plus, assist with aspects of special teams, video editing (HUDL), managing a recruiting area, computer skills, and other duties assigned by the Head Coach. Hiram (D-III - OH): Hiram College is seeking applications for a restricted earnings assistant football coach. The restricted earnings assistant football coach is a 10-month position, which reports to the Head Football Coach and the Director of Athletics. This position includes a $9,000.00 stipend, room and board. No benefits are attached to this position. The restricted earnings coach is responsible for the following; Daily implementation of the football strength and conditioning program, on field position coach, recruiting both on and off campus in accordance with Hiram College, NCAC and NCAA policies and procedures, video/academic support for assigned position players, and other duties as assigned. Qualifications for this position includes; Bachelor's Degree, minimum of 2 years of experience in collegiate football, completion of certification in NSCA or CSCCA is preferred, but not required.
