Purdue: Former Western Kentucky defensive backs coach Mike Cassity has joined the staff as director of high school relations. Additionally, former Austin Peay tight ends coach Ryan Wallace and former Connecticut special teams coordinator/linebackers coach Kevin Wolthausen have been hired as quality control assistants. 

MIT (D-III): Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a nationally recognized university in Cambridge, Mass., invites applicants for an intern assistant coach position from August until January. Duties include, but are not limited to, coaching a defensive position, assisting with practice and game planning, film breakdown, academic monitoring, recruiting and any other duties assigned by the head coach. Previous coaching and/or playing experience required. Compensation for the position will be a stipend of up to $4,000. Lindsey Wilson (NAIA - KY): Lindsey Wilson College is accepting applications for a restricted earnings assistant football coach. The position will likely be assisting in the defensive backfield. Responsibilities include on-field coaching, recruiting, video editing, assisting with the strength and conditioning program, and other duties within the football program. Compensation includes housing, meals, and a $500 monthly stipend. Virginia: The University of Virginia is a highly competitive Division I program committed to academic and athletic excellence. The Department of Athletics at the University of Virginia is now accepting applications for the position of Football Analyst to support the University’s Football program. The University, located in Charlottesville, Virginia, is a selective public institution known for its teaching, research, and public service. The University of Virginia sponsors a twenty-five sport intercollegiate athletics program, which includes approximately 650 student-athletes. The Football Analyst position is responsible for providing the football coaching staff with valuable information designed to improve the efficiency and success of the program, on and off the field. The incumbent will conduct in-depth research and perform high level analysis, utilizing various platforms in order to generate statistical reports and evaluate critical facets of the sport program. The resulting efforts of their work will allow coaches and staff to streamline processes, focus on competitive advantage, and improve practice and game protocols to achieve desired outcomes. The incumbent will also play an instrumental part in evaluating and providing feedback on coaches' clinics, community relations, fundraising, and recruiting efforts. A critical piece of this role is film evaluation and analysis and the incumbent must have a solid understanding of analyzing game tape and film breakdown in order to outline opponent tendencies and provide full scouting reports to the coaching staff. The Football Analyst position is a non-coaching role requiring considerable experience either playing, coaching, or analyzing the sport of football at the collegiate or professional level. This is a restricted term position with an anticipated end date of 12/31/2018. Continuation in the position will be evaluated annually. Required qualifications include: a Bachelor's degree and considerable (4-7 years’) experience playing, coaching, or performing analytics for the sport of Football at the collegiate or professional level. Also required: Experience with game tape analysis, film evaluation, video breakdown, and drafting scouting reports; knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations; demonstrated ability to evaluate and apply information and provide advice; demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team; excellent written and verbal communication skills; excellent administrative and organizational skills; working knowledge of various database and software programs. Preferred qualifications include: Extensive (7+ years’) experience playing, coaching, or performing analytics for a Division I or professional-level program and intermediate computer software skills and video system expertise. Jerry Sandusky: Former Penn State president Graham Spanier and former vice president Gary Schultz have been sentenced to two months in jail and former AD Tim Curley three months for their role in the Sandusky sexual assault scandal. All three will serve their sentences in house arrest.

New Mexico: AD Paul Krebs will step down effective June 30. He is being investigated for an improper use of state funds after a university-funded booster golf trip to Ireland.

The position will work as quality control on the defensive side of the ball and assist with the defensive line/outside linebackers. Avila (NAIA - MO): Avila University, an NAIA school located in Kansas City, MO, is seeking a Linebacker Assistant Coach. The candidates must have playing and coaching experience at this specific position. This is a 12-month coaching job that begins July, 1st 2017. Optional benefits include tuition to graduate school, a $7,000 stipend, and potentially on-campus housing with RA duties. Responsibilities will include: coaching specific position, assisting with weekly scouting, game planning, film-breakdown, recruiting, and other tasks assigned by the head coach.
