Florida: Per source, director of player personnel Chuck Cantor will not return to the staff. Cantor joined Dan Mullen's staff almost a year ago after serving in the same capacity at Virginia Tech.

NCAA Football Rules Committee: The rules committee has proposed an interesting "progressive penalty" for targeting, plus a tweak to multi-overtime games.

Tampa Bay (XFL): After much speculation, Rick Stroud tweets that the XFL team located in Tampa Bay will not be led by former Oregon defensive coordinator. Stroud does acknowledge that Leavitt and XFL commissioner Oliver Luck did in fact speak about the job.

Oregon: Contract details for new defensive coordinator Andy Avalos.

Oklahoma Panhandle State (NAIA): Per source, Dylan Swarers has been hired as the to coach the linebackers. Swarers spent last season at Stephen F. Austin (FCS - TX) as a defensive graduate assistant. Prior to that was the defensive backs coach / recruiting coordinator at East Texas Baptist (D-III).

Graceland (NAIA - IA): Graceland University is immediately accepting applications for an UNPAID defensive intern coach. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, coaching the defensive line, film breakdown, data entry, assisting with game preparation, assisting with recruiting, and other duties assigned by the head coach and defensive coordinator. Position will report to Head Football Coach and Defensive Coordinator. This is an unpaid, entry level position. There is a possibility for this position to be tied to a paid position through another department on campus if the candidate’s qualifications meet the requirements. All candidates must be able to pass a background check. Anticipated candidates are individuals who are trying to begin a career in the coaching profession. Lindsey Wilson (NAIA - KY): Lindsey Wilson College is accepting applications for a full-time assistant coach. This position will likely coach the defensive line and be responsible for other duties within the football program, which may include a leadership role in the strength & conditioning program. Experience within the defensive front 7 is required. This is a 12-month, full-time position with benefits. Mount Union (D-III - OH): Fred Thomas, the former head coach at Malone (D-II - OH), has joined the Mount Union staff. Malone announced earlier this year that they were dropping the football program.

Ellsworth CC (JC - IA): Wayne State (D-II - NE) tight ends coach John Dunford is joining the staff as offensive line coach, per source.

Northeastern Oklahoma (JC): Langston (NAIA - OK) offensive line coach / run game coordinator Mike Cannon is now on staff as the offensive line coach at NEO. Cannon has previous coaching stops at Northwestern State, Valdosta State, and Midwestern State.

Buffalo: Lance Leipold has announced the addition of Scott Fuchs, who coached the offensive line the last five seasons at Wyoming, as the new offensive line coach. The program has also announced that Brian Borland will move from safeties to corners coach, Taiwo Onatolu will now coach defensive ends and coordinate special teams after coaching the corners the last three seasons, and linebackers coach Chris Simpson has added the defensive run game coordinator title. Also, director of player personnel Jeff Burrow will coach the safeties. Burrow coached the safeties at Kent State from 2011-17 prior to joining the Buffalo staff.

Syracuse: Special teams coordinator / outside receivers coach Justin Lustig has added the title of assistant head coach.

Valparaiso (FCS - IN): Per source, Dayton (FCS - OH) defensive coordinator Landon Fox is expected to become the new head coach at Valpo.

Stetson (FCS - FL): Steve Davis, who most recently served as the defensive coordinator at Mississippi Gulf Coast CC (JC), has been hired to coach the linebackers, per source. Davis has also coached at Auburn, LSU, Tulane, Southern Miss, and Middle Tennessee.

St. Lawrence (D-III - PA): St. Lawrence University is currently accepting applications for 2 defensive graduate assistant positions. Both positions will be working with the secondary (corners and safeties). Previous playing experience at the position and/or coaching is encouraged. The salary for the positions are $16,756 paid over 9 months that includes student health insurance and free classes. No housing or meals included. Morehead State (FCS - KY): Morehead State has an IMMEDIATE opening for a RB or TE coach. Position includes coaching, recruiting, and administrative duties assigned by HFC. Hawaii: Sources tell FootballScoop that Hawaii is looking to hire a defensive line graduate assistant.

Rhodes (D-III - TN): Per source, Illinois College (D-III) offensive coordinator Travis James has been hired as the new offensive coordinator at Rhodes College.

Tennessee: Numi Lolohea is joining the Vols staff in a graduate assistant role, per source. Lolohea was a graduate assistant on the Hawaii staff previously.

Lehigh (FCS - PA): Lehigh University is currently accepting applications for a volunteer quality control position. This position will primarily consist of film breakdown, data entry, recruiting assistance to full time coaches and any other duties assigned by staff. Candidates with strong computer skills are preferred. (1) Must have completed a Bachelor’s degree program; (2) Experience competing/working in intercollegiate athletics. This is a non-coaching position. This position does not provide any stipend, benefits, or housing. However, volunteers will receive experience working in a Division 1 program. They will have the potential to earn a paid position as well as earn recommendations for a future career. Maine (FCS): Hawaii defensive intern Makana Garrigan has joined the Maine staff. Prior to being an intern, Garrigan spent two seasons as a graduate assistant at Hawaii.

Virginia University Lynchburg (NCCAA): Virginia University of Lynchburg is seeking to fill a number of open dates for the 2019 season. Currently, weeks 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, and 10 are open. Ideally, would like to play away games with some of guarantees, but would be open to discussing a possible home game. Looking to play FCS or Division II opponents. All games are countable.
