Gene Stallings suffered a minor stroke this morning at DFW Airport. Pat Dye relays that Coach Stallings is at the hospital; but in good spirits. Please Gene in your prayers.

Navy: FootballScoop has learned the Bethany College (D-III - WV) defensive coordinator Joe Battaglia has joined the Navy staff in a defensive quality control role. Battaglia spent the last two seasons at Bethany coordinating the defense and has previous stops at Brevard College, Stetson, and Juniata College.

Steve Spurrier: The Head Ball Coach has joined SiriusXM as a college football analyst.

San Francisco 49ers: Katie Sowers, who recently wrapped up her summer internship with the team working with the wide receivers, has accepted a full-time coaching position with the organization and is the second full-time female assistant coach in NFL history. Last year, Kathryn Smith became the league's first full-time female assistant coach when the Bills hired her in a special teams quality control role.

McKendree (D-II - IL): McKendree offensive coordinator Matt Rahl has added the title of associate head coach, Eric Bergman has moved from RBs to QBs coach, Colton Meyers has rejoined the program as receivers coach from Lindenwood (D-II - MO), and Nick Franey has been hired as a grad assistant coaching the running backs source tells FootballScoop.

Monterey Peninsula College (JC - CA): Per source, Russel Washington, who played college ball at Northwestern State (FCS - LA), has been hired to coach the linebackers.

Dakota College at Bottineau (JC - ND): Dakota College at Bottineau (JC-ND) has a late opening for a secondary or linebackers coach (depending on experience). Contract will be 8/15-11/15, 2017. Pay will be 1200 a month (3600 total), possible security duties on campus as well for additional salary. Possible residence life duties which would include room and board (no extra salary) if willing to stay for entire school year. Itasca CC (JC - MN): Former Elizabeth City State (D-II - NC) quarterbacks coach Johnny Johnson has joined the staff as special teams coordinator / running backs coach, per source.
