Nevada: Jay Norvell has hired Jeff Casteel to serve as his defensive coordinator at Nevada. Casteel previously served as defensive coordinator both at Arizona and at West Virginia and was the 2014 FootballScoop Linebackers Coach of the Year.

LSU: Defensive backs coach Corey Raymond has signed a new multi-year deal that includes a raise, multiple outlets are reporting. Ross Dellenger adds that Raymond will make $400,000 in 2017, $425,000 in 2018 and $450,000 in 2019.

Notre Dame: Defensive line coach Keith Gilmore will not return in 2017, according to Irish Illustrated and Irish247. Our understanding is these reports are not correct.

Southern Miss: Following the departure of AD Bill McGillis, head strength and conditioning coach Zac Woodfin has been named the school's interim athletic director. Woodfin was the winner of our 2014 FootballScoop Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year.

Texas: The program has now formally announced the additions of Todd Orlando (DC), and Craig Naivar, as well as Yancy McKnight (head S&C), and Tory Teykl as director of football operations. All four members join the staff from Herman's previous staff at Houston.

Buena Vista (D-III - IA): Hastings College (NAIA - NE) offensive coordinator Grant Mollring has been announced as the program's new head coach. Mollring spent the past three seasons at Hastings, and was the offensive coordinator at Doane College (NAIA - NE) the three seasons previous to that. He also served as the recruiting coordinator and quarterbacks coach while at both schools.

Florida State: Florida State has extended head coach Jimbo Fisher through the 2024 season, the 'Noles have announced, with "options for additional years." Steve Berkowitz of USA Today points out that "including annual 'contract completion benefit,' Jimbo Fisher's new basic pay with FSU will be $5.75 million in each year of his 8-year deal," and that is a half million dollars ore than he was getting in 2016, and $400,000 more than he was set to earn in 2017. Berkowitz adds that FSU's buyout for firing fisher without cause will jump to $44.4 million as of January 4th, and then slowly decline annually. The deal also includes up to two automatic one-year extensions for Fisher leading the Seminoles to 9-win seasons.

Culver-Stockton (NAIA - MO): Culver-Stockton College is accepting applications for a full-time offensive coordinator with an anticipated January 2017 start date. The position of Assistant Football Coach – Offensive Coordinator reports to the Head Football Coach and is responsible for assisting in administering the entire operation of the program including (but not limited to) the recruitment of student-athletes, film breakdown and evaluation, practice planning, participate in player skill development, meetings with players and staff and other duties assigned by the Head Coach. Candidates should have success coaching or playing football, preferably at the collegiate level, the ability to recruit and motivate student-athletes, a strong commitment to academic success as well as compliance with NAIA, Heart, and institutional policies and procedures. Bachelor’s Degree required. Screening of applicants will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. San Diego: Southern Miss AD Bill McGillis announced today he has accepted the associate vice president and executive director of athletics position at USD.

Rutgers: Offensive coordinator Jerry Kill has signed a 3-year deal starting at $600,000 and rising $25,000 a year after that, according to Ryan Dunleavy of NJ.com.

Culver-Stockton (NAIA): Culver-Stockton College is accepting applications for a full-time Assistant Football Coach with an anticipated January 2017 start date. C-SC offers experiential learning with a 12-3 academic calendar which provides an innovative four-year program of studies and experiences that prepares students for career success like no other college or university in the nation. C-SC fields 18 NAIA sports which compete in the Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart). Florida: Jim McElwain has announced linebackers coach Randy Shannon will shift to defensive coordinator and quality control assistant Mark DeBastiani will handle linebackers for the Gators' Jan. 2 Outback Bowl against Iowa. McElwain added that he doesn't expect to name a permanent defensive coordinator until after their bowl game.

Jacksonville Jaguars: GM Dave Caldwell said Tom Coughlin will be on the Jags' candidate list to replace Gus Bradley. Coughlin went 68-60 as the Jags' first head coach from 1995-02.

Missouri Valley (NAIA - MO): Missouri Valley College invites applications for full-time assistant football coach and Instructor. The successful candidate must possess a Master’s degree and have previous experience in coaching defensive line or defensive backs. Experience with: strength and conditioning, recruiting, and special teams considered a plus. Interested applicants should email Defensive Coordinator Monty Roe at roem@moval.edu. Tennessee: The Vols will not hire a replacement for outgoing AD Dave Hart until "at least February" according to Jimmy Hyams of WNML radio in Knoxville.

Nevada: Long Beach City College (CA) DC Matt Kirk will join the Nevada staff, likely coaching the safeties sources tell FootballScoop.

Lamar (FCS - TX): Former Montana State head coach Rob Ash has applied for the Lamar head job, according to the Port Arthur (Texas) News. We can add that we hear former LSU special teams coordinator Bradley Dale Peveto is a strong candidate for the head job at Lamar.

Abilene Christian (FCS - TX): Former ACU player Danieal Manning is joining Adam Dorrel's staff.

Howard Payne (D-III - TX): Braxton Harris, who has spent the past three seasons as the assistant head coach / co-defensive coordinator at Texas Lutheran (D-III), has been named head coach. Harris helped turn around a 0-10 program into one that went 25-5 over the past three seasons with three straight conference titles.

Arizona: Per source, Scott Boone (who spent the past few seasons as the defensive coordinator at Nevada) is joining the staff and will coach the linebackers. Boone is a former finalist for our FCS Coordinator of the Year Award from his time at William and Mary.

UT-Martin (FCS): Sources tell FootballScoop that head coach Jason Simpson's contract has been rolled over to another 6-year extension. Also, we understand that associate head coach / linebackers coach / special teams coordinator Jordon Hankins has been promoted to defensive coordinator.

Abilene Christian (FCS): Adam Dorrel's contract at Abilene Christian is a five-year deal.

Southeastern Louisiana (FCS): Head coach Ron Roberts, who has led the program to a 36-24 mark during his five seasons leading the program, has signed a contract extension that runs through the 2018 season.

Lamar (FCS - TX): Collegiate Consulting is assisting in the coaching search and director of athletics Jason Henderson tells KBMT that they hope to have the next head coach in place before the holiday break.
