Kansas City Chiefs: The Chiefs have now formally announced Brett Veach as their new GM. Veach is entering his 11th year in the NFL and previously served as co-director of player personnel and pro and college personnel analyst.

Trinity Valley CC (TX): Nate Haremza has been announced as offensive line coach and Cortney Finney as linebackers coach.

Kansas City Chiefs: Per Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, the Chiefs are finalizing a deal to make Brett Veach their new GM. Veach spent last year as the co-director of player personnel for the organization.

AFCA: The AFCA is now accepting applications for the 2018 AFCA 35 under 35 Coaches’ Leadership Institute presented by the American Football Coaches Foundation & NCAA Leadership Development. The purpose of the AFCA 35 Under 35 is to identify and develop the next generation of leaders in the coaching profession. The AFCA 35 Under 35 will take place Sunday, January 7, at the 2018 AFCA Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina. This one-day event will feature interactive lectures focused on topics specifically tailored to emphasize leadership in the coaching profession, ethics, influential responsibilities, career progression, and family balance. Each participant will receive a $1000 stipend to assist with expenses incurred while attending the AFCA Convention. Application Period: July 1st – 31st, 2017 Eligibility: Applicants must be born on or after January 1, 1983, and meet one of the following qualifications: a. High School – Must be a head coach b. Two-Year College – Must be a full-time assistant or head coach c. NAIA/NCAA (all divisions) – Must be a full-time assistant or head coach Application Criteria: Applicants must submit a resume, five references and a 1600 word article on an Offense, Defense, Special Teams or position-specific topic of the applicant’s choosing (please include diagrams/illustrations with your article) Instructions: Send your resume and article in PDF format to 35under35@afca.com. Sul Ross State (D-III - TX): Sul Ross State has a graduate assistant position open working with the wide receivers. The position will cover housing and 10 meals per week. Please send cover letter and resumes to john.h.pearce@sulross.edu.

Incarnate Word (FCS - TX): The University of the Incarnate Word (FCS) San Antonio, TX seeks applicants for a WR / Offensive Skill position coach. College coaching or playing experience is required. Responsibilities include coaching a position, running your own position room, recruiting territory, and administrative assignments as determined. This is a Volunteer Position. There is NO compensation at this time. We are looking for serious individuals with drive and passion, and that are willing to make the sacrifice. We are looking to fill this position ASAP! Sul Ross State (D-III - TX): Tyler Card has been promoted to offensive coordinator and offensive line coach, and Dontavius Smith has joined the staff as quarterbacks / wide receivers coach, per source.

San Diego Mesa (JC - CA): San Diego Mesa College is looking for a defensive intern working with the Defensive Line or Linebackers. The position is unpaid but would be a good opportunity for a young coach or someone wanting to get into the college coaching profession. Johnson C. Smith (D-II - NC): Per source, Montaze McRae has been hired to coach the running backs. McRae coached the offensive line / tight ends at Fayetteville State (D-II - NC) last season.

South Carolina State (FCS): Tommy Restivo has joined the staff as defensive coordinator, per source. Restivo has previous stops coordinating the defense at SC State, McNeese State, and also previously coached the defensive backs at Louisville.

Jackson State (FCS - MS): Per source, Cameron Murray has joined the staff and will coach the defensive ends, LaMarcus Hicks will replace Cliff Collins as defensive backs coach, and Carl Roberts will coach the offensive line.

Shenandoah (D-III - VA): Shenandoah University has an opening for a restricted earnings position that will run August 1 - Jan 15th. Stipend and some meals provided, no housing. Position will serve on offensive side of ball, preferably OL, and have a recruiting territory. Serious inquiries only, please email head coach syoder@su.edu.

VMI (FCS - VA): Per source, the new defensive backs coach will be South Alabama graduate assistant Ross Metheny. Mettheny joined the USA staff back in February, and previously served as a graduate assistant at Kansas State for two and a half years.

Independence CC (JC - KS): Independence Community College is seeking (3) intern/assistant positions, (1) to coach the wide receiver position and begin working immediately. Qualified applicants must have collegiate playing or coaching experience. Job responsibilities will include coaching the slot WR position and TE’s. Position (2) is LB assistant or DB’s, we will hire best candidate. Position (3) is Assistant Offensive Line position. All positions out for hire will conduct their own meetings, recruiting an assigned geographic area, and handling other duties as assigned by the head coach. There is no compensation at this time, but does include on-campus housing, and a meal plan.. We are looking for serious individuals with drive and passion, and that are willing to make the sacrifice. SUNY Cortland (D-III - NY): SUNY Cortland currently has two staff opening for the 2017 season. Both positions are entry level part time pay positions with full time responsibilities. St. Norbert (D-III - WI): St. Norbert College (WI) seeks applicants for a WR position coach. College coaching or playing experience is required. Responsibilities include coaching a position, running your own position room, recruiting territory, and administrative assignments as determined by the head coach. The University of San Diego (FCS): San Diego is looking to hire defensive (2) and offensive (2) interns (one offensive intern will also work with Special Teams). Please indicate if this is of interest). These are voluntary, unpaid internships with no graduate classes available. We are looking for self-motivated, detail oriented, problem solvers who can communicate effectively. Applicants should have experience with DVSport, Excel, JumpForward, Power Point, and Visio. The program is also looking for a video coordinator. This is a paid position ($17,000/year; no benefits). Applicants should be computer savvy and have experience with DVSport, video editing software (i.e. FinalCut), filming football practice/games, knowledge and use of video equipment.
