San Diego State: Safeties coach Danny Gonzales has been promoted to defensive coordinator.

Florida International: Northern Arizona special teams coordinator Jeff Copp has been named FIU's defensive backs coach.

Florida State: Dameyune Craig is joining the Florida State staff source tells FootballScoop. Craig, the former receivers coach at LSU, previously coached quarterbacks at Florida State from 2010 - 2012. Craig's role will be as analyst / quality control we are told.

Scoop Him Up:Brett Sykes is former Division I defensive lineman at Ohio who has most recently been the defensive line coach and defensive coordinator at Missouri S&T. For family reasons, he left Missouri S&T to move to Toledo, and is trying to get back into college coaching as either a position coach, coordinator or quality control. As a defensive line coach, he led a unit that had 34 sacks in 2012, 45 sacks in 2013 (a school record), then broke that record in 2014 with 47 sacks. As defensive coordinator, he led a defense that finished 2013 Ranked 2nd in the nation in pass efficiency defense & 13th in total defense. The Miners allowed just 304.9 yards per game during that season. He is a proven recruiter and excellent position coach who has led Strength and Conditioning programs as well. How are most programs using the Guardian Caps? - Most are implementing by position group for Inside Run / 9on7 power guys. Manage the buildup of all the daily blows with padding at the point of contact. Why are linemen and defensive backs still wearing the same protective equipment?

Missouri Valley (NAIA): Missouri Valley College is seeking applicants for undergraduate student-assistant coaching positions working with the offensive side of the ball. These positions are intended for individuals who are trying to finish up their undergraduate education. Individuals will receive a scholarship package covering a percentage of tuition, room, and board. Position includes but is not limited to: working with an offensive position group (will determine based off the strength of applicants), assisting with aspects of special teams, video editing (HUDL), on-campus recruiting responsibilities, computer skills, and other duties assigned by the Head Coach. Previous equipment management, football coaching or playing experience is a plus. Oklahoma State: Former Missouri offensive line coach A.J. Ricker has joined the staff as an analyst, as reported by Mark Cooper of the Tulsa World.

Amherst College (D-III - MA): Amherst College seeks two assistant football coaches. The first is an entry level assistant coach (wide receivers), and the second is an intern assistant coach (running backs). The intern is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in all phases of the Football Program including coaching your own position, film-breakdown, scouting reports, recruitment of student-athletes, and other duties to be assigned. East Texas Baptist (D-III): With Scotty Walden off to coach inside receivers at Southern Miss, passing game coordinator/wide receivers coach Scott Highsmith has been named head coach at ETBU.

Waynesburg (D-III - PA): Rich Shepas, the winningest coach in school history, has announced that he will be retiring after 12 seasons with the Yellow Jackets.

UTEP: Former Montwood HS (El Paso, TX) head coach Chuck Veliz will coach the UTEP receivers, per MinerRush.

Pomona-Pitzer (D-III - CA): Will Gilmore, the former defensive coordinator at Occidental College (D-III - CA) is the new special teams coordinator and defensive line coach, per source.

Pikeville (NAIA - KY): University Of Pikeville is seeking applications for a defensive graduate assistant. Job Responsibilities include; coaching a position, helping with equipment, working with special teams, managing a recruiting area, holding position meetings, assisting with day-to-day defensive preparation and any other areas assigned by the head coach or coordinator. Applicants must be able to work with students and possess strong interpersonal skills. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree. Applicants must be accepted in the University of Pikeville Graduate School. Graduate Assistant will be provided 6 hours of classes per semester, $500 a month, housing and a meal plan. Independence CC (KS): Independence Community College is looking for an unpaid video coordinator/special teams coach who will also assist with the Defensive line. This is an intern position that includes housing, meals, and a great opportunity. Someone who has some type of video experience at a football program, preferably College level. Responsibilities will include, but the job that will take up 50% of your time will be Video Editing, and being the Video Coordinator, which includes, hiring assistant filmers and managers, along with cutting up video, trading film with opponents and doing stats on video. Experience Coaching Special Teams is preferred and will likely be pushed to the top of the hiring process. As an assistant other duties, along with, game planning, recruiting, and other responsibilities designated by the Defensive coordinator and Head coach will be required. Purdue: Don Dunn has been hired as director of player personnel. Dunn has 28 years of experience at the Division I level and spent the past four seasons at Western Kentucky where he coached the defensive line and served as recruiting coordinator. Prior to WKU, Dunn spent time at Texas Tech, Ole Miss, Nevada, Pacific, Montana State, and Tennessee.

Northern Michigan (D-II): Brandon Jordan, the former John Ehret HS (Marrero, LA) defensive line coach has joined the Northern Michigan staff as offensive line coach.

New Orleans Saints: After spending last season as a coaching intern with the team, former Saints corner Leigh Torrence has been promoted to defensive assistant, per multiple outlets. Torrence will take the place of Marcus Ungaro, who will shift from defensive assistant to a role in the scouting department, per Nola.com.

Bemidji State (D-II - MN): Spencer Erickson has been hired as a defensive graduate assistant and will work with the outside linebackers, per source. Erickson previously served on the UW-Oshkosh (D-III - WI) as a student assistant for five seasons working with the outside linebackers.
