Houston Nutt: Houston Nutt has agreed to drop his lawsuit vs Ole Miss in connection with a joint statement and an undisclosed settlement.

Louisville: Not a football note, but Louisville's athletic association has voted to fire Rick Pitino with cause.

Maryland: AD Kevin Anderson has announced he will take a 6-month "professional development sabbatical." Read more here.

Southwestern Oklahoma State (D-II): With head coach Dan Cocannouer retiring following the 2017 season (as announced earlier this month), Southwestern Oklahoma State has posted their head coaching job. A description, qualifications, and how to apply can be found here.

UAB: UAB AD Mark Ingram tells Brett McMurphy the university is working on a contract extension with head coach Bill Clark. Clark's current deal runs through June 2020. His current contract pays him $630,000 per year before incentives reports McMurphy.

Thomas More (D-III - KY): Head coach Regis Scafe, who is in his third season at Thomas More, has announced that he will retire at the end of the season. Scafe has led the program to a 23-7 mark, two conference titles and two playoff appearances. He previously led the football programs at John Carroll (D-III - OH) for 14 seasons, and Case Western Reserve (D-III - OH) for four years. Offensive coordinator Trevor Stellman has been named head coach, effective at the end of the season, and defensive coordinator Chris Norwell has been promoted to associate head coach.

New York Giants: Head coachBen McAdoo handed over play calling duties to offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan...and the Giants got their first win of the season despite playing without a large number of "starters" due to injury.

Nebraska: The Huskers have hired Washington State athletic director Bill Moos to lead them. Moos has reportedly received a 5-year deal worth about $1 million annually, per multiple outlets. Before arriving at Wazzu in 2010, Moos was the AD at Oregon from 1995-2007. Moos knows how to hire a coach...and he also reads all of your emails (great insight into Bill Moos here).

Auburn: Auburn lost in ugly fashion to LSU on Saturday, and afterward former Tigers fullback Heath Evans nominated himself as his alma mater's new head coach.
