Nebraska: Safeties coach Bob Elliott passed away Saturday in hospice care in Iowa City, according to the Des Moines Register. Elliott, 64, played at Iowa and spent a long career in coaching while going through separate battles with cancer and kidney disease. He coached at a number of programs, including his alma mater, Iowa State, Notre Dame and North Carolina, including defensive coordinator stints at Kansas State and San Diego State. He joined Mike Riley's staff in February as safeties coach before his health pushed him into an analyst role last month. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.
Independence CC (KS): Independence Community College is seeking (3) intern/assistant positions, (1) to coach the wide receiver position and begin working immediately. Qualified applicants must have collegiate playing or coaching experience. Job responsibilities will include coaching the slot WR position and TEs. Position (2) is LB assistant or DB’s, we will hire best candidate. Position (3) is Assistant Offensive Line position. All positions out for hire will conduct their own meetings, recruiting an assigned geographic area, and handling other duties as assigned by the head coach. There is no compensation at this time, but does include on-campus housing, and a meal plan.. We are looking for serious individuals with drive and passion, and that are willing to make the sacrifice.
