New Research: Quick Vertical Shots to Protect Base RPOs - As a 10 personnel outfit that sees mainly six-man boxes, Quabbin High School (MA) needs to continually devise ways to attack edge defenders in the RPO game. While this may be commonplace thinking, in X&O Labs clinic report Head Coach David Buchanan and OC Harrison Ingles explain how they have added the ability to attack the defender that is being assigned to make that tackle against the pass (usually a safety or corner) to their RPO arsenal. It’s their RPO concepts such as Bubble/Go, Spot/Wheel, Snag/Bubble and Spot/Seam that have helped produce the highest scoring offense in the region’s history (43.2 PPG) with WRs and QB setting multiple school and regional records. Click here to read the report.

Reedley College (JC - CA): Reedley College has an immediate opening on staff at defensive backs coach. Must have a AA or BA and the required years of experience. Case Western Reserve (D-III - OH): Kevin Burke, a two-time Gagliardi Trophy winning quarterback at Mount Union (D-III - OH), has joined the staff in a part-time role coaching the running backs. Burke was a three-time All American at Mount Union and played professionally in Austria for the Dacia Vikings last year, and plans to return to play again following Case Western's season, per The News-Herald.

Alabama: Former Tide running back Glen Coffee has joined the staff in a student-assistant role as he finishes up his degree, per The Tuscaloosa News. The Tuscaloosa News has also reported that former All-American return man Javier Arenas has joined the staff in an undetermined off-the-field role.

Monterey Peninsula College (JC - CA): Per source,Mike Harr, who has coached the defensive line for the Green Bay Blizzard (Indoor), has joined the staff and will be coaching the defensive line.

Wayne State College (D-II - NE): Wayne State College has an immediate opening for one defensive assistant coach. The assistant’s primary coaching responsibilities will be working with the defensive backs. Previous experience is required. Applicants must qualify for the State of Nebraska defensive driving certificate. Minorities are encouraged to apply. This is a 10 month reporting position with a $650.00 stipend per month ($6500.00 total). There is no housing/meals or benefits package. Lycoming (D-III - PA): Head coach Mike Clark has announced the following returning staff members - Steve Wiser (assistant HC / DC), Tim Landis (QBs / STC), Mark Surma (defensive backs and defensive passing game coordinator), Chris Kish (LBs0, Chris Long (assistant OL) and Jermaine Reyes (assistant linebackers) - as well as a few new additions in Sami Caygoz (OL), Pat Carey (assistant QBs), Brian Kilbane (LBs), Lumoi Muttu (WRs), and Steve Radocaj (DL).

Itasca CC (JC - MN): Derek LaCaze, who is fresh off an appearance in the Texas 5A state title game with Cedar Hills HS (TX) last season, has been announced as defensive coordinator.
