Texas: Former Ohio State quarterback Kenny Guiton will join Tom Herman's staff as a quality control assistant at Texas working with wide receivers. He was a graduate assistant at Houston.

Abilene Christian (FCS - TX): Colgate outside linebackers coach Jordan Brown will join the ACU staff coaching linebackers.

Lake Erie College (D-II - OH): Fairmont State offensive coordinator Jeff Horrocks has been named head coach at Lake Erie.

NFL: The NFL has announced a partnership with the East-West Shrine Bowl to provide coaching staffs for both teams in which current NFL assistant coaches from non-playoff teams will serve as the coaches for the bowl game. The assistants will be nominated to participate by their teams. Once the head coaches are selected, the head coaches will then select their coaching staffs from the coaches nominated.

Oregon: Defensive coordinator Jim Leavitt will make $1.15 million per year in a four year contract reports Andrew Greif of the Oregonian. No current Pac-12 assistants make over $1 million per year. Leavitt would owe Oregon a small buyout should he leave to accept any position other than as head coach at Kansas State which he could freely leave for.

LaVell Edwards: Legendary BYU coach LaVell Edwards has passed away Thursday at age 86. The namesake of the Cougars' stadium and an innovator of the modern passing game, Edwards was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2004. Read more here.

Chicago Bears: Head coach John Fox reiterated today that he expects offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains to return next season, per the Chicago Sun Times. The Bears are 3-12 heading into the final week of the season and rank 28th out of 32 teams in scoring offense at just under 18 points per game.

Buffalo Bills: Recently dismissed head coach Rex Ryan will be paid $5.5 million each of the next three years ($16.5 million total), according to Mike Lupica.

Jim Harbaugh on negative recruiters: "I've long referred to those people as jive turkeys."

New York Jets: Commenting on the job security of head coach Todd Bowles,Gary Myers of the New York Daily News notes that he doesn't "anticipate changes," citing "a well placed Jets source."

Henderson State (D-II - AR): Defensive coordinator / defensive backs coach Matt Gordon is stepping down sources tell FootballScoop. We hear he is headed for a job outside of football.

Temple: Director of football operations Scott Wallace has been retained by new head coach Geoff Collins.

Murray State (FCS - KY): Itawamba CC (MS) offensive line coach Cody Woodiel is expected to be the new offensive line coach at Murray State source tells FootballScoop.

Chattanooga: John Carroll University director of player personnel & recruiting Scott Aligo has joined Tom Arth at UTC in the same capacity.

Alfred (D-III - NY): Alfred University is currently accepting applications for graduate assistant football coaching positions. Master’s Degree programs are offered in Business Administration, College Student Development and School Counseling. Victor Valley (JC - CA): Victor Valley JC has a full adjunct position with stipend available in the Spring semester. Must have a Masters Degree in Kinesiology. Can guarantee 15-17 adjunct hours a week plus stipends. Would work out to between 35-40 thousand a year. Looking for best position coach available. Special teams experience a plus. Morgan State (FCS - MD): Morgan State has several openings and is seeking applicants for the following position coaches; linebackers, running backs, wide receivers, offensive line, tight ends and special teams coordinator. Morgan State is seeking applicants who are computer savvy, outstanding recruiters and good teachers of football fundamentals and techniques. Penn State: Defensive coordinator Brent Pry noted after practice yesterday that other programs have inquired about his services, but he has told all of them he isn't interested. "I'm happy where I am. I love the role I have right now. I love being at Penn State. I love working for James Franklin. I love our group," Pry added.

Western Kentucky: Ryan Mahaffey, the co-offensive coordinator at Northern Iowa (FCS) is joining the WKU staff and will coach the tight ends, per Adam Rittenberg. Mahaffey served as a graduate assistant at Notre Dame in 2015 while Sanford was with the Irish.

Wake Forest: Wake Forest University has an opening for a graduate assistant position working with the offensive line. The position will begin in the Spring of 2017 with the start date TBD. Experience with the offensive line is preferred. If interested, email Warren Ruggiero at ruggiewd@wfu.edu.

Ave Maria (NAIA – FL): Ave Maria University in southwest Florida is looking for a wide receivers coach. There is a modest monthly stipend attached to the position as well as a housing and meal plan. Nevada: Jason Kaufusi, who served as the defensive coordinator last season at Weber State (FCS - UT), has joined the staff as defensive line coach, completing Jay Norvell's full-time staff. Also, former Pack running back Vai Taua will serve as a special teams assistant with the program. Taua previously coached the running backs at East LA (JC - CA),

Saint Joseph's (D-II - IN):St. Joseph's College is looking for a home game on October 28th of 2017 and September 19th of 2018. Prefer to schedule a D-II opponent for both spots. WOuld like a home and home if anyone has matching open dates. Interested programs can contact dday@saintjoe.edu.

Salt Lake Screaming Eagles (Indoor): The Salt Lake Screaming Eagles are currently building our coaching staff and looking for 2 coaches (1 offense skill / 1 defense skill). Indoor / Arena experience is not required although it is highly desirable. Compensation will include shared housing, meals, & a stipend of $5,000 for each position; opportunities will be available to earn additional income through sales. Coaches will need to have a clean driving record as you will be responsible for driving team vehicles around SLC. Report date to SLC will be in early January with regular season running through June.
