Howard (FCS - DC): Source tells FootballScoop Howard is planning to make Ron Prince their next head coach.

Georgia Tech: Ken Whisenhunt has removed his name from the search Adam Schefter has tweeted. Sources told FootballScoop Temple head coach Geoff Collins was interviewed yesterday and has emerged as a strong candidate.

Another new pro football league: A fourth new pro football league has been announced, as a group of former NFL players led by Terrell Owens and Ricky Williams have founded the Freedom Football League.

Mike McCarthy: The former Packers head coach shared with ESPN that he plans to "lay low and try to finish this professional chapter on the high road," and hasn't decided whether to pursue another NFL head coaching job this off season or took the year off.

Cal: Head coach Justin Wilcox has signed a new five-year deal. Wilcox just wrapped up his second year at Cal, going 5-7 year one and 7-5 this past year with a trip to the Cheez-It Bowl coming up. The new deal also includes a salary increase and increased assistant salary pool. Details to come...

App State: An update on the coaching search at App State. This one is moving quickly...

Bethany (NAIA - KS): Curran White has been named the new head coach. White has 18 years of college coaching experience and most recently was the offensive coordinator / recruiting coordinator at Ottawa University (NAIA - KS).

Highland CC (JC - KS): Highland Community college has an immediate opening for a full-time linebackers coach. McMurry (D-III - TX): Per source, Hendrix College (D-III - AR) offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Jordan Neal will be the new head coach.

McNeese State (FCS - LA): Source tells FootballScoop Sterlin Gilbert does not plan to retain any of the on field coaches from Lance Guidry's staff.

Michigan: AD Warde Manuel responds to a report saying Jim Harbaugh is interested in an NFL return.

Waldorf (NAIA - IA): Waldorf University is seeking to fill open dates on September 14, 2019, September 21, 2019 and November 16, 2019. NAIA, Division 3 opponents preferred, but willing to discuss a guarantee game with Division 2 or FCS opponent. If interested please contact Head Football Coach Josh Littrell at

ECU: Mike Houston is bringing James Madison (FCS - VA) offensive coordinator Donnie Kirkpatrick and defensive coordinator Bob Trott with him to ECU, per the Daily News-Record.

Indiana Wesleyan (NAIA - IN): JJ Clark, who has spent the past two seasons as the defensive coordinator / linebackers coach at Wheaton (D-III - IL), has been hired as defensive coordinator. Prior to joining the Wheaton staff, Clark was a part of the Akron staff where he worked with the linebackers & defensive backs for two seasons.

McNeese State (FCS - LA): McNeese has confirmed the hire of Sterlin Gilbert as their new head coach.
