Baylor: Matt Rhule has finalized his initial coaching staff -- Matt Lubick (wide receivers) and Jeff Nixon (running backs) will serve as co-offensive coordinators; Phil Snow, defensive coordinator; Francis Brown, assistant head coach/defensive backs coach; George DeLeone, offensive line; Joey McGuire, tight ends; Elijah Robinson, defensive line; Mike Siravo, linebackers/recruiting coordinator; and Glenn Thomas, quarterbacks.

Ole Miss: The Rebels have formally announced the hiring of Freddie Roach as defensive line coach. He served as Alabama's director of player development over the past two seasons.

Stanford: Stanford has elevated volunteer Nathaniel Willingham to defensive intern. Wilingham, who has volunteered for the program the past two seasons, is replacing Tyrone Mckenzie who accepted a position with the Rams.

Eastern Michigan head coach Chris Creighton gives an inspired talk on the "power of football" (2 min video).

Morehead State (FCS - KY): We understand the defensive backs position is in the process of being filled. Once official, we will update further.

Liberty (FCS....): Liberty has announced plans to transition to FBS where they will compete as an independent. Starting with the 2017 season, Liberty will begin the two-year FBS reclassification process & they will compete as an FBS Independent for the 2018 season, which includes having three FBS home games. The program will be bowl eligible for the 2019 season and will be required to play at least five home FBS opponents that season.

Stanford: Former UC Davis head coach Ron Gould has been hired as running backs coach at Stanford, taking the place of Lance Taylor who is joining the Carolina Panthers as receivers coach. Gould is the long-time running backs coach at Cal.

Lindenwood University at Belleville (NAIA - IL): Lindenwood is looking to hire a full time offensive line coach. Salary is $40k, full benefits. Northern Colorado: Source tells FootballScoop Northern Colorado expects to fill the corners role from within the staff.

Fordham: Source tells FootballScoop Jordan Orlovsky, grad assistant at Old Dominion, has accepted the linebackers position at Fordham.

Alabama: Associate director of football operations Ellis Ponder is expected to be promoted to DFO reports Aaron Suttles.

Urbana (D-II - OH): Urbana University seeks applicants for a full-time defensive assistant coach for the Blue Knight football program. Preference will be given to applicants with prior defensive line or linebacker coaching experience at the college level. In addition to these duties, the position will be responsible for other duties as assigned by the head coach. Interested applicants should send their resume, cover letter and references to carol.powers@franklin.edu noting “Assistant Football Coach” in the subject line of the email. Compensation for this position will be in the mid-$20,ooo range.

New Research: Advancements on the Three-Level Sail Concept – While the Sail has been ingrained in the run and shoot offensive system since the days of Mouse Davis, now this three-level flood concept is being tweaked to attack current coverage structures like bracket and man. So it’s not surprising that at Saint Louis High School (HI), now the home of athletic director June Jones, the Crusaders have used the Sail to throw for over 8,000 yards and a final national ranking of #18 this season. Ole Miss: Per Aaron Suttles, Alabama director of player development Freddie Roach "is in play at Ole Miss" to join the staff as defensive line coach....and Bruce Feldman now adds that Roach is expected to join the Ole Miss staff.

Arizona State: Running backs coach John Simon has added the title of assistant head coach and wide receivers coach Rob Likens has added the title of co-offensive coordinator. Yesterday, Todd Graham formally announced the additions of ULM's Rob Sale (OL) and Kansas DL coach Michael Slater (DL).

NC State: Receivers coach George McDonald has added the title of passing game coordinator.

San Diego (FCS - CA): The University of San Diego is currently seeking 2 offensive interns, 2 defensive interns, 1 special teams intern and 1 operations intern. Those interested should understand these positions are voluntary, unpaid internships that will last for one year with the possibility of a second year. Experience with DVSport, Excel and JumpForward are helpful but not mandatory for the right candidate(s). Please send your resume and 3 references to Ben Brunnschweiler, Dir. Briar Cliff (NAIA - IA): As we reported yesterday, Dennis Wagner, who recently wrapped up his fifth season at Liberty (FCS - GA) as associate head coach / offensive line coach, has now been named head coach. Wagner has prior experience as the head coach at Western Carolina and Wayne State College, and has also served as the offensive line coach at Nebraska and Fresno State.

Alabama: New England Patriots tight ends coach Brian Daboll is expected to be the next offensive coordinator for Bama, per a report from Rodney Orr of Tider Insider. Daboll has spent the past three seasons coaching the tight ends for Bill Belichick and is a former graduate assistant under Nick Saban at Michigan State in the late 90's. Also, Matt Zenitz adds that Joe Pannunzio will join the staff as tight ends coach, as previously reported.

Northern Iowa: Eastern Illinois offensive line coach Mike Simmonds is expected to join the UNI staff as offensive line coach, Tom James of the Tribune-Star reports.

Oklahoma State: Per source, Missouri DFO graduate assistant Morris Berger has accepted an offensive quality control / quarterbacks job at Oklahoma State. Berger has previously worked in the Missouri recruiting department, at Missouri Western State (D-II), and a couple Missouri high schools.

Kansas: Per JayhawkSlant, Ohio defensive line coach Jesse Williams will join David Beaty's staff and coach the defensive line after spending the last five seasons with the Bobcats.

East Stroudsburg (D-II - PA): East Stroudsburg has an open date for the 2017 season on August 31st or September 2nd (both at home). Also looking for August 30, 2018 at home and August 29, 2019 away. Interested programs can contact Chad Braine at cbraine@esu.edu.

UT-Martin (FCS): Dominique Bowman, who coached the defensive backs at Arkansas Monticello (D-II) last season, has been ired to coach the corners at UT-Martin, per source.

Denver Broncos: Northern Colorado (FCS) corners coachCharles Gordon has accepted a defensive quality control job with the Broncos, per source.

Wilkes (D-III - PA): Wilkes University Football is hiring immediately for a full-time, defensive coaching position (9-month contract). Responsibilities will include managing a position group, recruiting an area, game-planning, and additional assigned duties from the head coach and defensive coordinator. Preferred candidates should be detail-oriented, ambitious, hard-working and have at least 5 years collegiate coaching experience.
