Arkansas: Chad Morris (?) made a grand appearance dropping in on a signing day event.

Minnesota Vikings: Eagles' quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo has been hired as offensive coordinator of the Vikings per multiple reports.

New Mexico: Bob Davie has been suspended 30 days without pay amid a trio of investigations into the athletics department.

Clemson: Dabo's staff has received some significant raises.

Albany (FCS): Head coach Greg Gattuso has signed a new 5-year contract that runs through the 2022 season, the school has announced. Financial terms were not disclosed. Gattuso is 21-24 with two 7-win seasons in four seasons at Albany and 118-56 overall in 12 years as a head coach.

Pittsburgh Steelers: Former UCLA and Penn State defensive coordinator Tom Bradley will be the Steelers' secondary coach the team has announced.

It Just Means More: If you coach a game at a public school in Mississippi, spectators may be able to legally possess a concealed carry handgun in the stands if a new law passes as written. 

Pittsburgh Steelers: The Steelers have announced the addition of Alabama defensive line coach Karl Dunbar, and note that defensive line coach John Mitchell will remain on staff as assistant head coach.

Tennessee: Jeremy Pruitt's assistant coach salary pool is $5.835 million per year, according to Knox News. The report adds that OC / QBs coach Tyson Helton will make $1.205 million, OL coach Will Friend will earn $805k, co-DC / OLBs coach Chris Rumph will make $805k, DC / ILBs coach Kevin Sherrer will make $705k, RBs coach Robert Gillespie will make $515k, WRs coach David Johnson is set to make $505k, DL coach Tracy Rocker will make $505k, corners coach Terry Fair will make $255k, TEs coach Brian Niedermeyer will make $205k,. and strength coach Craig Fitzgerald will make $625k. Helton, Sherrer, Rumph Fitzgerald and Friend are under contract through the 2020 season, while Niedermeyer, Kelly, Johnson, and Fair are signed through 2019. Robert Gillespie, the one coach Pruitt retained, has his contract expire February 28th of 2019.

Bowling Green: The addition of LaMarcus Hicks as secondary coach is now official.

Eastern Michigan: Former Kent State defensive coordinator Ben Needham has now been announced as the new defensive line coach on Chris Creighton's staff.

Illinois: Per source, Illinois is hiring USC defensive graduate assistant Austin Clark as their defensive line coach. Clark worked with the Trojan defensive line.

Vanderbilt: As we've previously reported, the additions of Jason Tarver (DC), Shawn Mennenga (STC), Aaron Moorehead (WRs), and Terrence Brown (corners) are now official.

UW-Stout (D-III): Per source, defensive line coach Tony Lombardi has left the staff and is pursuing other opportunities. We understand that Stout is looking to fill the position with either receivers or defensive line coach.

Cleveland Browns: As we reported yesterday, Sam Shade is leaving Georgia State (where he coached the corners) to join the Browns, and the Browns have officially announced his role as assistant special teams coach.

Syracuse: Dino Babers has announced his restructured staff for the 2018 season. Mike Lynch has been promoted to offensive coordinator/quarterbacks, assistant head coach Kim McCloud will move to cornerbacks, tight ends coach Reno Ferri will add inside receivers, special teams coordinator Justin Lustig will coach outside receivers, and Nick Monroe will handle the safeties.

LSU: Former Florida offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier is joining LSU's staff as an analyst tweets Bruce Feldman. We have heard this is a possibility; but hear IAWP issues have been an issue.

Seattle Seahawks: Ricky Manning Jr. will not return to the coaching staff next season, per a tweet from Curtis Crabtree. Manning spent the last two seasons as the assistant defensive backs coach.

Pittsburgh Steelers: Earlier this morning, a report surfaced that Alabama defensive line coach Karl Dunbar was in discussions to join the Steelers staff to coach the defensive line, prompting questions about the future of current defensive line coach John Mitchell. Gerry Dulac tweets that Mitchell is not being let or retiring, but the organization is looking at candidates to come in and learn under him until he retires. is now reporting Dunbar has been hired by the Steelers.

Miami (FL): Jonathan Patke has been promoted from defensive quality control analyst to outside linebackers coach and will be the 10th assistant, Mark Richt has announced.

LSU: Rutgers co-defensive coordinator Bill Busch has been hired as safeties coach at LSU. Busch is a former FootballScoop Defensive Backs Coach of the Year.

Miami Dolphins: Pitt secondary coach Renaldo Hill has accepted a position with the Dolphins source tells FootballScoop. Hill played at Michigan State before playing ten seasons in the league. He has coached defensive backs at Pitt since the 2015 season. Update> Narduzzi has now announced the move.

Youngstown State (FCS - OH): Wide receivers coach Brian Crist has been promoted to offensive coordinator and defensive backs coach Richard McNutt and defensive line coach Donald D'Alesio have been named co-defensive coordinators. Also, Joe Ganz will go from coaching the tight ends to the quarterbacks, Travis Tislaretz has been elevated from offensive quality control to tight ends, defensive quality control coach Sean Baker is being elevated to tight ends coach, and assistant secondary coach Tim Marlowe is now coaching the team's wide receivers.

Arkansas State: With Luke Paschall off to North Carolina, that leaves two openings on Blake Anderson's staff. We understand Anderson had already identified his candidates and the hires are in process. Expect announcements in the next few days.

Arizona Christian (NAIA): Mountain Pointe HS (AZ) assistant head coach Eric Lauer has been named running backs coach at ACU, per source.

Campbellsville (NAIA - KY): Gerald Cooper has joined the staff as running backs coach and recruiting coordinator. Cooper most recently spent the past two seasons at UW-Eau Claire (D-III - WI) coaching the wide receivers.

SMU: Graduate assistant Chris Scott Jr. has been promoted to a quality control role, per source.

Indianapolis Colts: The Colts have sent an interview request for Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier, tweets Ian Rapoport.

Pittsburgh Steelers: Manish Mehta tweets that Alabama defensive line coach Karl Dunbar is in discussions to become the next defensive line coach for the Steelers. Before joining the Tide, Dunbar coached the defensive line for the Bills, Jets, and Vikings.

Minnesota: PJ Fleck has now announced the additions of Clay Patterson (TEs), Jahmile Addae (DBs), Marcus West (DL pass rush specialist). Also, as expected, Brian Callahan's move from tight ends to offensive line is now official as well.

Western Michigan: Dontae Wright, the former special teams coordinator and defensive coordinator at Tennessee Tech (FCS) has been hired as co-special teams / safeties coach, per source.

Catawba (D-II - NC): Per source, VMI (FCS - VA) offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Dustin Ward as left to become the offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach at Catawba.

South Carolina State (FCS): Two former Newberry (D-II - SC) assistants have joined the staff in Bennett Swygert (offensive coordinator) and Na'Shan Goddard (offensive line). Swygert coached the quarterbacks and served as offensive coordinator while Goodard was the offensive line coach at Newberry.

Wingate (D-II - NC): Wingate University has an opening for an assistant football coach. Responsibilities include coaching the WRs, managing the equipment, handling the student workers, recruiting and mentoring. Salary: $26K. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required, college playing experience as a WR preferred, previous WR coaching experience preferred. Briar Cliff (NAIA - IA): Briar Cliff has a graduate assistant opening working with the Defensive Backs. This is a 10 month position and includes a $5000 stipend, free tuition, and meal plan. Responsibilities include running positional meetings, assisting with special teams, helping with weekly game plan, film breakdown and data entry (HUDL), recruiting, and other duties assigned by the Head Football Coach. The ideal candidate would have a minimum 1 year coaching experience or collegiate playing experience at Defensive Back. Candidates must be able to gain acceptance to graduate school, which is a 3.0 requirement. The position start date is no later than Febuary 15th. Review of candidates will begin immediately.
