Denver: The Broncos are finalizing a deal to bring former Chargers head coach Mike McCoy to Denver as OC reports Mike Klis.

Jacksonville Jaguars: Denver Broncos special teams coordinator Joe DeCamillis has accepted the same role with the Jaguars reports Mike Klis who covers the Broncos.

Los Angeles Rams: Wade Phillips has agreed to become the Rams' defensive coordinator, per Adam Schefter.

Minnesota: Source tells FootballScoop Western Michigan running backs coach Kenni Burns will join PJ Fleck in the same capacity at Minnesota.

Cal: Wisconsin defensive coordinator Justin Wilcox is "in contract negotiations" to become the next head coach at Cal, per multiple reports.More on the news, including other candidates, here.

Buffalo Bills: Ravens secondary coach Leslie Frazier has been hired as the defensive coordinator for the Bills, per Jamison Hensley.

Washington Redskins: Wade Phillips has an interview scheduled with the 'Skins, according to multiple reports.

Los Angeles Chargers: The Chargers are in the process of hiring Anthony Lynn as head coach, per Ian Rapoport. More on the hire here.

Alabama: Indication we hear from Alabama is that Nick Saban expects to be able to retain Mike Locksley, moving him on the field, based on conversations with sources who note the situation remains fluid.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Adam Schefter reports that defensive coordinator Mike Smith has withdrawn his name from the Chargers search for a new head coach and has agreed to terms on an extension keeping him with the Bucs.

Nebraska: Sean Callahan of HuskerOnline reports that Bob Diaco is a leading candidate to become DC at Nebraska.

Western Michigan: Sources tell FootballScoop Western Michigan plans to meet with Alabama's Mario Cristobal tomorrow about their head coaching opening. Cristobal has been offered the co-offensive coordinator position at Oregon sources tell FootballScoop (and was a candidate for two other head coaching openings). As we previously reported, WMU has interviewed Tim Lester and Matt MacPherson for the position. We also hear they spoke with Les Miles earlier this week about the position.

Arkansas: Dan Enos is expected to remain at Arkansas reports Bart Pohlman "despite interest from college & NFL teams". Sources tell FootballScoop Enos had no offers from college teams; but the Ravens were considering him for an assistant position. Pohlman adds that Bob Diaco is one of the candidates for DC adding that he has interviewed with his friend Bret Bielema.

Miami Dolphins: The Dolphins have promoted linebackers coach Matt Burke to defensive coordinator.

Wade Phillips: Sean McVay is hoping to bring Wade Phillips to LA as defensive coordinator reports...well, all of the national NFL media.

Buffalo Bills: Sean McDermott is hiring Ravens offensive line coach Juan Castillo as offensive line coach / run game coordinator reports Jeff Zrebiec.

LA Rams: Sean McVay has been named head coach of the Rams. At 30 years old, the now former Redskins offensive coordinator, McVay is now the youngest head coach in the league.

Baltimore Ravens: The Ravens have announced that Greg Roman's title with the team will be senior offensive assistant and tight ends coach. Richard Angulo will move from tight ends to assistant offensive line coach.

Miami (OH): Miami of Ohio's new facility is legit.

Michigan: Pep Hamilton has been formally announced as assistant head coach and passing game coordinator on Jim Harbaugh's staff.

We had been told that former LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson was joining the Houston staff as a grad assistant but sources at Houston tell us this is not happening at this time.

Georgia Southern: Olten Downs, who served as the assistant director of player personnel last season at Georgia, has now been officially announced as safeties coach. Head coach Tyson Summers has also announced that Jeremy Rowell will now concentrate on the corners and defensive coordinator Lorenzo Costantini is adding duties as the defensive line coach.

Notre Dame: With Clark Lea's hire now official, Mike Elston has moved back to defensive line.

Central Michigan: Tennessee offensive grad assistant Nick Sheridan has now officially started at CMU as the running backs coach. Sheridan, a former Michigan quarterback, previously coached quarterbacks at both USF and WKU.

Lamar (TX): Melvin Smith, the former defensive coordinator at UL-Lafayette who also previously coached the corners at Auburn, is joining the Lamar staff as defensive coordinator, per source.

Notre Dame: Clark Lea has been formally announced as linebackers coach.

Temple: Per source, Joe Battaglia will be joining the Temple staff as an offensive graduate assistant. Battaglia spent the past few seasons with new Temple offensive coordinator Dave Patenaude at Coastal Carolina (FCS) where he worked in a similar role the past few seasons.

Southwest Minnesota State (D-II): Jacob Nye has accepted the running backs graduate assistant job, per source. Nye previously worked as a student assistant with the defensive line, and then tight ends at Saginaw Valley State (D-II - MI).

Southwestern College (JC - CA): Longtime San Diego County area offensive line coach Ken Wilmesherr is joining the staff.

Kansas: FootballScoop has learned that TCU co-OC / inside receivers coach Doug Meacham has accepted the offensive coordinator position at Kansas. Update: Kansas has now announced the hire. Strong move from David Beaty.

North Texas: Sources tell FootballScoop Notre Dame special teams analyst Marty Biagi is expected to join the North Texas staff as special teams coordinator. Denton reporter Brett Vito also noted Biagi is emerging as the likely choice. Biagi was recognized as a leading special teams coordinator by FootballScoop for his work with the 2014 Southern football team.

New Research: Northern Colorado’s Zone Based Solution to Defending RPO’s –While some coaches have made the full transition to defending post-snap RPOs with six boxes and man coverage, the defensive staff at Northern Colorado has bought into using bracket coverage structures to defend both 10 and 11 personnel RPOs. In X&O Labs exclusive clinic report, UNCO’s safeties coach Woody Blevins details how he teaches his inside and outside bracket rules vs. 2×2 and 3×1 formations, and how he trains the eyes of conflict defenders to recognize run vs. pass. Eastern Michigan: Luke Meadows is the new offensive line coach at EMU. Meadows spent this past season winning a national championship at Garden City. Before going to Garden City for the 2016 season, he coached the offensive line at Southern Miss and FAU.

Chargers: The Chargers have formally announced a move to Los Angeles, beginning in the 2017 season.

Western Michigan: Tim Lester visited WMU yesterday and Northwestern RBs coach Matt MacPherson is today reported Graham Couch yesterday. We hear some other guys are under consideration as well. Will update as more is clear.

Auburn: Brandon Marcello reports that Kendal Briles will not be considered for the OC position at Auburn either. Was previously reported that Art would not be considered as well.

Northern Michigan: Former Austin Peay (FCS - TN) head coach Kirby Cannon has been hired as the defensive coordinator, per source. Prior to Austin Peay, Cannon coached the defensive backs at Central Michigan, and served as the head coach at Missouri S&T (D-II) for a decade as well.

Jacksonville Jaguars: Head coach Doug Marrone will not be able to hire assistant coaches without prior approval from Tom Coughlin per multiple reports. Alex Marvez adds that Coughlin wants Marrone to interview "at least 3" outside coaches for every Jags staff member he wants to keep. Marvez also notes that Coughlin has blocked Marrone from hiring Donnie Henderson. Sounds like things are off to a smooth start in Jacksonville...Hopefully it works out for the best.

NFL players say playing through a concussion doesn't make you more of a man.

Auburn: Art Briles will not be considered for the offensive coordinator vacancy, per Brett McMurphy, who adds that the job is "wide open" and that the new offensive coordinator "will run the offense."

Fort Scott CC (KS): North Texas graduate assistant Mason Y'Barbo will be the new offensive line coach and run game coordinator at Fort Scott, according to Brett Vito of the Denton Record-Chronicle.

Campbell (FCS - NC): Texas A&M offensive graduate assistant David Marsh has been named offensive coordinator. Prior to joining Texas A&M, Marsh was at UCLA working with the inside receivers and offensive line.

Anthony Lynn: Former Buffalo Bills interim head coach Anthony Lynn is "currently scheduled" for second interviews with the Chargers and Rams this week, per Josina Anderson.

Baltimore Ravens: Former Bills offensive coordinator Greg Roman is joining the Baltimore staff, according to Adam Schefter, who adds that final duties are still being ironed out.

Livingstone College (D-II - NC): Livingstone is seeking to fill an open date for week 2 of the upcoming season. Interested teams please call Coach Williams at 713.291.5040.

Central Arkansas (FCS): Per source, head coach Steve Campbell has signed a 5-year contract extension at Central Arkansas worth over $200,000 annually. Campbell led the program to a 10-3 finish this season, including wins over Arkansas State in the regular season and Illinois State in the FCS Playoff.

Sioux Falls (D-II - SD): Former UC Davis (FCS) running backs coach / special teams coordinator Jim Chapin is the new offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach.

Willamette (D-III - OR): Terrell Cloud, the corners coach at Weber State (D-II - UT) has been hired to coach the defensive backs, per source.

Mississippi Valley State (FCS): Mississippi Valley State University (SWAC) is looking for an Linebackers Coach. Must have the flexibility to work in strength and conditioning also. Seton Hill (D-II - PA): The Seton Hill University Athletic Department has two full-time openings (DL / run defense coordinator and Secondary coach / special teams coordinator / pass defense coordinator). The purpose of this position is to recruit, coach, and retain full roster team. A bachelor’s degree is required, master’s preferred. 3 to 5 years prior college coaching experience preferred. Excellent computer skills are necessary. The incumbent must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, as well as represent the University well. West Georgia (D-II): The University of West Georgia is looking to fill a video coordinator/GA position starting in May. The position will oversee all aspects of the video office and must have working knowledge of XOS, video production, and ability to manage group of students. This is not a coaching position. This position will receive housing, tuition in a master’s program, meal plan, and monthly stipend. Pace (D-II - NY): Pace University has an opening for a restricted earnings defensive backs coach. The salary is $14K and does not have housing or meals associated. This position is suited for a candidate who can commute to Pleasantville, NY and finalists express their plan for making that salary productive. This position will team coach the defensive backs until the candidate becomes productive and proficient with the group. The position will have a significant role in quality control responsibilities. The position is intended to recruit a primary area in person. The position with have additional ancillary responsibilities associated with the football program. The position is for the individual that can commit to the development of student athletes daily through the academic year and will pursue a career coaching football rather than part-time coaching work. Applicants have experience playing college football or previous coaching experience (preferably on defense). Applicants will have their undergraduate degree, a valid driver’s license, regular access to a vehicle and a clean background. Seton Hill (D-II - PA): Seton Hill is hiring an intern position to work on defense with the secondary or linebackers. This is a part-time 10 month intern position (paid over 12 months). The purpose of this position is to recruit, coach, and retain full roster team. A bachelor’s degree is required, master’s preferred. Two years prior college coaching experience preferred. Special Teams experience desired and on the road recruiting experience at the college level is required. Excellent computer skills are necessary. The incumbent must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, as well as represent the University well. Annual compensation is $11,000, incumbent will also be provided with $800 in dining hall flex annually. No housing or benefits offered.
