"Landmarking" Your Red Line Run Game: At Rose-Hulman IT (IN) the "red line" is referred to as the line four yards from the sideline. It's a landmark used in the Fightin' Engineers wide zone run game such as jet sweep and power read where the ball carrier knows he cannot cutback or be at the risk of absorbing blindside hits from backside pursuit players. This is why offensive coordinator Brian White teaches his runners to reach specific landmarks on these concepts before he can make any cuts. Coach White spoke exclusively with X&O Labs detailing these landmarks, and how they change upon the defensive front. To read this report on XandOLabs.com, click here.
