Atlanta Falcons: Washington wide receivers coach / passing game coordinator Bush Hamdan is joining the Falcons as quarterbacks coach, per Alex Marvez.

Southern Miss: Source tells FootballScoop director of football operations John Barnett will not return. We understand the position is open.

Briar Cliff University (NAIA - IA): Source tells FootballScoop Dennis Wagner is going to be the new head coach. Wagner most recently served as offensive line coach at Liberty (FCS - VA) through November of this past season and previously served as head coach at both Western Carolina and Wayne State. 

Michigan State: Director of college advancement and performance Curtis Blackwell has been suspended from the staff with pay, the school has confirmed, in connection with an ongoing criminal investigation into three Spartans football players.

Harvard: Per source, Amherst College quarterbacks coach/recruiting coordinator Anthony Fucillo will be the assistant defensive backs coach at Harvard.

Iowa: Kelton Copeland, the wide receivers coach / special teams coordinator at Northern Illinois is joining the Iowa staff as wide receivers coach, per Chad Leistikow of the Des Moines Register.

Despite their approval in the NFL and high school football, NCAA leaders are citing reasons why electronic devices wouldn't work in college football rather than looking for reasons why it would.

Tampa Bay Bucs: Danny Breyer, who worked as an assistant in football analytics last season, has been elevated to defensive assistant the team has announced.

Scoop Him Up:Jared Van Acker has served as the head football coach at Battlefield High School, a 6A school located in Northern Virginia for the last two years. He led the Bobcats to two consecutive playoff appearances and 1 conference championship in 2015 where he earned Coach of the Year. He previously coached three years as the head football coach at Grafton High School, located in Yorktown, Virginia. He led the Clippers to three consecutive 4A playoff appearances, winning the Region 1 championship in 2011. At the end of the 2010 season, he was named Coach of the Year for the Bay Rivers District. Jared recently completed his 10th year as a head football coach, with two years at Freedom (South Riding) H.S and three prior years at Galax High School in Virginia as well. Prior to Galax H.S., he served three years as an assistant coach at William Campbell High School in Virginia, where he helped coach the Generals to a state championship in 2005. He served one season as an assistant at Carthage High School in Illinois, where they finished as state runner-up. He played three years of college football at Quincy University, located in Quincy, IL. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Western Illinois University and graduated from J.D Darnell High School in Geneseo, IL. He also recently received his Master’s Degree from Ohio University in Coaching Education. He has had numerous professional articles that have been published by the national football coaching magazine, American Football Monthly. He also has a DVD-series based on his offensive and special team schemes produced by American Football Monthly as well. North Dakota State (FCS): Per source, NDSU is hiring current Montana State offensive coordinator and former Iowa State offensive coordinator Courtney Messingham as their new offensive coordinator, and offensive line coach Conor Riley is being elevated to run game coordinator.

Pitt: Sources tell FootballScoop Pat Narduzzi is hiring former FAU head coach Charlie Partridge as his new defensive line coach. Prior to serving as FAU's head coach the past three seasons, Partridge coached the defensive line at Pitt ('03-07), Wisconsin ('08-12) and at Arkansas (2013).

North Dakota State (FCS): UT Martin (FCS) defensive line coach Buddha Williams will be the new defensive ends coach at NDSU, per source.

Oklahoma State: As we reported last night, Southern Miss wide receivers coach/special teams coordinator John Wozniak will be Oklahoma State's running backs coach multiple outlets are now confirming.

LSU: Longtime Saints special teams coordinator Greg McMahon is joining the LSU staff in an analyst role, per Ross Dellenger.

Kansas State: Collin Klein has now officially been named quarterbacks coach.

Temple: Temple has announced the hirings of Tim Conner as an offensive analyst and an operations assistant and Bobby James as a special teams analyst and operations assistant. Conner is the former wide receivers coach at Huntingdon College (AL), and James is the former Limestone (D-II - SC) head coach.

Baltimore Ravens: The Ravens have announced a number of staff moves including; Chris Hewitt will move into the role of secondary coach, defensive assistant Mike Macdonald has been promoted to defensive backs coach, Defensive coaching assistant Drew Wilkins is being promoted to assistant defensive line coach, offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg will continue to coach the team's quarterbacks (duties he picked up midway through the 2016 season) and Juney Barnett has been elevated to strength and conditioning coach.

Northern State (D-II – SD): Northern State University is accepting applications for a offensive graduate assistant (tight ends/assistant offensive line). Responsibilities will include, but not limited to: coaching a position group, managing a recruiting area, video breakdown, and other duties assigned by the head coach. Position includes tuition waiver and stipend, with additional income possibilities. Start Date will be July 15, 2017 or sooner, if possible. Indiana State (FCS): Western Illinois (FCS) corners coach Deon Broomfield has joined Curt Mallory's staff coaching the corners at Indiana State.

Kentucky Christian (NAIA): Per source, Faulkner University (NAIA - AL) wide receivers coach Zach Tribble has been hired as co-offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach.

Indiana State (FCS): Per source, Florida Tech (D-II) defensive coordinator Mark Smith is joining the Indiana State staff as defensive line coach / assistant head coach. Smith has previous coaching stops at Ball State, San Diego State, and Michigan.

Iowa: Last night, multiple reports surfaced that NDSU offensive coordinator Tim Polasek would be joining the Iowa staff, and Chad Leistikow adds this morning that Polasek will coach the offensive line. FootballScoop can confirm the news.

Villanova (FCS): Per source, head coach Mark Ferrante has now completed the coaching staff with additions of offensive line coach Sean Devine (former OC/OL coach at Delaware), running back coach Brian Jones (former RBs coach at Missouri) and defensive line coach Ross Pennypacker (former DC/LB coach at Kutztown). The rest of the staff is as follows; Sam Venuto (OC/QBs), Joe Trainer (DC/LBs), Brian Flinn (WRs), Ola Adams (Special Teams Coordinator/corners), and Dave Riede (Recruiting Coordinator/safeties). Shane Brady will take over as offensive assistant/TEs and TJ Landis (video coordinator) will add assistant director of football operations to his responsibilities.

Washington: Sources tell FootballScoop that Tyler Osborne has joined the Washington staff as an offensive graduate assistant and will work with the wide receivers. Osborne previously spent the past five seasons at Oregon, most recently as an offensive analyst / assistant quarterbacks coach.

Seattle Seahawks: Running backs coach Sherman Smith, who has coached the team's running backs since 2009, is no longer with the team according to Alex Marvez. Additionally, multiple outlets report that assistant linebackers coach Lofa Tatupu, who just finished his second year with the team, also will not return.

Davenport (D-II - MI): Source tells FootballScoop that a fifth candidate has interviewed for the Davenport job (along with the four we reported previously) in Hillsdale College's (D-II - MI) defensive coordinator Craig Blanchard.

San Francisco 49ers: Chiefs defensive assistant Taylor Embree has joined the staff as an offensive quality control assistant.

North Alabama (D-II):North Alabama is in search of a Division II game on September 9th, 2017. We are willing to talk home or away with programs.
