San Jose State: Fred Guidici is returning to San Jose State as special teams coordinator. Guidici previously was on staff at SJSU from 2012-2014. Guidici spent the past two seasons as special teams coordinator at College of San Mateo. Also, former Portland State linebackers coach Ben Thienes is joining the staff.

Cal: Arizona tight ends / special teams coach Charlie Ragle has agreed to join Justin Wilcox' staff at Cal source tells FootballScoop. Source tells FootballScoop Ragle will receive a three year contract.

Florida A&M (FCS): FAMU receivers coach DJ McCarthy has resigned to pursue other football opportunities source tells FootballScoop.

East Carolina: Running backs coach Antonio King will not return reports Ryan Bartow.

Tennessee: New hires Brady Hoke and Walt Wells have both received 2-year deals. Hoke will make $500k annually, and Wells will make $300k.

Arkansas: Freshly hired defensive line coach John Scott, Jr., has signed a contract worth $340,000 annually and runs through June 30, 2018, according to SEC Country.

Tennessee: Butch Jones has promoted offensive quality control Walt Wells to offensive line coach, replacing Don Mahoney. Jones also made the hire of Brady Hoke official (associated head coach / defensive line), moving Steve Stripling into the role of director of football program development.

LSU: As reported yesterday by Ross Dellenger, LSU has formally announced the hirings of Tommie Robinson (RBs) and Mickey Joseph (WRs).

Utah State: Former defensive grad assistant Matty Ah You has joined the Oregon State staff in the same capacity and Aman Anand has joined the staff as a defensive grad assistant.

Arkansas: New defensive line coach John Scott will make $340,000 per year in a deal that runs through June 2018 reports Matt Jones. Scott would owe Arkansas $100,000 should he leave for another position prior to February 15, 2018.

Penn State: App State defensive grad assistant Matt Fleischacker has returned to Penn State in a similar capacity.

TCU: Nick Kelly, who just wrapped up his playing career as an offensive lineman at Arizona State, is following Chris Thomsen to TCU where he will work as an offensive graduate assistant with the offensive line.

Tampa Bay Bucs: The Bucs have promoted Ben Steele from offensive quality control to tight ends coach. Steele is a former player with the Green Bay Packers.

Scoop Him Up:Sean Lampkin is seeking a full-time coaching position on a college football staff working with Wide Receivers or Tight Ends. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology in December of 2013 from Brevard College and is currently finishing his Masters in Organizational Leadership at Charleston Southern University. Lampkin, a former All-State TE/WR in South Carolina, was also a three-year starter in college playing both at the Division I and Division II levels, having transferred from South Carolina State University. Currently, he is going into his fourth season in at FCS Charleston Southern, spending the 2014 season as the assistant tight ends coach, and spending 2015-present as the assistant wide receivers coach. He has seen great success early in his career, bringing a winning mentality from a CSU program that has compiled a 35-6 record against non-FBS opponents, back to back conference championships, and back to back appearances in the FCS National Playoff. In his years at CSU, he has gained knowledge under former AFCA Regional Head Coach of the Year Jamey Chadwell (current OC at Coastal Carolina), current Charleston Southern OC and former Nick Saban assistant Gabe Giardina, and coaching veteran, former Citadel OC, and current Head Coach at Charleston Southern, Mark Tucker. He keeps in great contact and receives mentoring from all of his former playing coaches as well, including Clemson Co-OC, Tony Elliott, SC State Head Coach, Buddy Pough, and Indianapolis Colts Special Teams Assistant, Maurice Drayton. Lampkin’s dad, Will, is a high school coach, possessing two state championships in the state of South Carolina, and his 20+ year career includes head coaching stops at Kingstree High School and most recently Darlington High School. Sean also served as the video coordinator during his tenure at CSU therefore possessing a vast amount of knowledge in XOS, LRS, Hudl, and Dragonfly video systems. Southern Oregon (NAIA): Southern Oregon University, an NAIA school in Ashland, Ore., is currently seeking applications for the position of head football coach. Applicants much have a bachelors degree and a minimum of three years coaching or playing college football, with preferred qualifications of previous head coaching or coordinator experience. Priority deadline of applications is Feb. 21 with an anticipated start date of March 7, 2017. All applicants must apply for the job via this link.

New Orleans Saints: NC State defensive line coach / run game coordinator Ryan Nielsen is joining the Saints as defensive line coach, according to a report from Dave Doeren has confirmed.

Mississippi State: Georgia offensive assistant (OL) DJ Looney is reportedly joining the staff as an assistant working with the tackles and tight end FootballScoop can confirm. Bruce Feldman first shared the news. Will Sammon who covers Mississippi State for the C-L reports that Looney will get the full-time nod now with Scott Sallach moving off the field. Sallach could come back on when the 10th assistant is approved, expected to be in April.

NC State: Per Josh Newberg of 247, Texas Tech defensive line coach Kevin Patrick has accepted an offer to join the NC State staff as defensive line coach.

Texas Tech: Jabbar Juluke has formally been announced as associate head coach / running backs coach. Juluke spent last season coaching the running backs at LSU. Before his coaching stop in Baton Rouge, Juluke spent one month as an assistant at Texas Tech, and prior to that was at Louisiana Tech coaching the running backs for three seasons from 2013-2015.

Auburn: Special teams / tight ends coach Scott Fountain will not be an on-the-field coach for the program next season, per Brandon Marcello of 247. Before moving into his current on-the-field role in 2013, Fountain served as the player personnel director for the Tigers from 2009-2012.

Arkansas: John Scott Jr. has been announced as the Razorbacks new defensive line coach. Scott Jr. was an assistant defensive line coach with the New York Jets last season.

Springfield (D-III - MA): Springfield College has multiple graduate assistant positions open for the 2017 season for both offense and defense. The position covers a full time academic course load (the academic programs typically take two years to complete) and a small stipend. There is no housing or meals associated with these positions. Graduate assistants at Springfield will have their own position group to work with where they will be expected to run their own meetings, plan practice, run individual time, contribute to game planning, work with special teams, and other duties assigned by the head coach. The candidate will also be responsible for the recruitment of student athletes, and will be expected to recruit on the road year round. Preference will be given to candidates with experience coaching at the high school or collegiate level as well as skills with Microsoft Office (word, excel, power point, Visio), DVSport, Hudl and Photoshop. The position is contingent upon being accepted to graduate school at Springfield College. Candidates must have an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher, and may have to take the GREs, depending on their academic program of study. Allegheny College (D-III - PA): Allegheny College is accepting applicants for their offensive coordinator job. A Bachelor’s degree is required; however a Master’s degree is preferred. The offensive coordinator is responsible for assisting the head coach with all aspects of the program. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assist head coach with the organization and direction of a competitive football program as well as coaching the quarterback’s position. The ideal candidates will have previous college coaching experience as a play caller, position coach with an understanding of the DIII philosophy and its role at a private liberal arts institution. They must also possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills, communicate effectively (verbal and written), have the ability to multi-task and operate within an extremely motivated, team oriented atmosphere. Illinois Wesleyan (D-III): Illinois Wesleyan University is seeking a graduate assistant to work with the football program coaching receivers. Candidates must be interested in a degree in Kinesiology and Recreation, must have a 3.0 GPA as an undergrad. Georgia: Source tells FootballScoop associate head coach / defensive line Tracy Rocker will not return with the program. Dean Legge has reported the same. Rocker came to Georgia in January 2014 after spending three seasons with the Tennessee Titans.

SMU: Former Gilmer head coach & University of Texas assistant (with Charlie Strong) Jeff Traylor is at SMU & will soon be announced as Chad Morris' assistant head coach reports David Smoak. FootballScoop can add that this move has been in the works for some time; and that several other programs had been vying for Traylor's services over the past month.

TCU: The Horned Frogs have now formally announced the additions and titles of Chris Thomsen (OL) and former Cal head coach Sonny Dykes (offensive analyst / consultant).

Texas State: Everett Withers has officially announced a number of staff changes, a number of which we've already covered, but to recap; safeties coach Troy Douglas has not been retained and Preston Mason and Withers will now coach the secondary together. With offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Brett Elliott taking the quarterbacks job at Mississippi State, Withers announced that wide receivers coach and special teams coach Parker Fleming will coach the quarterbacks, and former Rutgers running backs coach Zak Kuhr (who worked with Withers previously at James Madison) will coach the Bobcat running backs and be the teams offensive coordinator, Ron Antoine will switch from running backs / tight ends to receivers, and offensive line coach / recruiting coordinator Adrian Mayes will coach the tight ends moving forward.

Lake Erie College (D-II): Multiple sources tell FootballScoop that head coach Jeff Horrocks, who was officially named head coach of the program back on December 29th, has resigned and Gerald Hazzard has been named head coach of the program moving forward. Hazzard previously served as the teams interim head coach beginning in mid-October of 2016 and has been the program's offensive coordinator since since January of 2007.

Miami Dolphins: Former 49er defensive lineman Andre Carter is meeting with the Dolphins about their assistant defensive line job, per Alex Marvez.

Army: Army has fined defensive coordinator Jay Bateman $25,000 and suspended him two weeks. More details here.

Buffalo Bills: Bobby Babich, who spent last season as the defensive backs coach at FIU and had been retained on Butch Davis' staff, has joined the organization as an assistant defensive backs coach. Bobby's father, Bob, recently joined the Bills as linebackers coach.

LA Rams: Falcons quarterbacks coach Matt LaFleur is expected to be the new offensive coordinator for the Rams, per Adam Schefter.

Atlanta Falcons: The Falcons have officially announced Steve Sarkisian as their new offensive coordinator.

Florida: Sources tell FootballScoop Jim McElwain has convinced Drew Hughes to remain at Florida. Hughes had been offered a similar position at South Carolina.

Cabrillo College (JC - CA): Offensive coordinator / offensive line coach Andy Gonzalez has resigned after coaching with the program the past decade, sources tell FootballScoop.

Mississippi State: Mississippi State has an opening for an offensive line graduate assistant. Must have at least two (2) year’s experience coaching offensive line at the collegiate level. Please send resume and cover letter to​.

Hamline University (D-III - MN): Hamline University in St. Paul, MN, a Division III institution in the highly competitive MIAC conference, is currently looking for highly motivated VOLUNTEER football intern coaches for the Spring Semester. This position will work directly with football. This is an UNPAID position so candidates need to be passionate about the field and demonstrate a desire to pursue a career in the field of College Athletics. Internship duties include but are not limited to: Assisting with coaching a position, assisting with recruiting an assigned area, academic monitoring, administrative duties, extensive video breakdown of games and practices on HUDL, and opponent scout. Additional duties may be assigned by the head coach. Strong communication and time management skills are an absolute must. Buffalo Bills: Former Eagles wide receiver Chad Hall is joining the staff as a coaching assistant, according to Albert Breer. Hall and new Bills head coach Sean McDermott were with the Eagles together in 2010.

Iowa State: Eric Kohr has joined the staff as director of recruiting operations. Kohr spent the 2016 season at Ohio University as director of player personnel and high school relations and previously worked at Maryland as a recruiting analyst.

TCU: Sources tell FootballScoop senior associate head coach, recruiting coordinator and running backs coach Curtis Luper has been promoted to co-offensive coordinator. Luper fills the role vacated when Doug Meacham left for Kansas last month.

South Carolina: Sources tell FootballScoop Florida director of player personnel Drew Hughes plans to join back up with Will Muschamp at South Carolina. Before joining Muschamp's staff at Florida in December 2013, Hughes had previously overseen recruiting at NC State. Hughes also served as a recruiting specialist at Alabama from 2007-2011. Michigan: Hawaii defensive coordinator Kevin Lempa is considering accepting an analyst position with the Wolverines, according to the Honolulu Star-Advertiser. The paper reports Lempa met with Michigan officials over the weekend.

Trinity International (NAIA - IL): Trinity International University is looking for applicants for a defensive line or linebackers restricted earnings coaching position. Applicants must possess their bachelor’s degree, have a desire to mentor, and have a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Marshall: Villanova (FCS) tight ends coach Mark Powell has joined the Marshall staff as a defensive grad assistant working with the linebackers.

Mississippi State: Texas State offensive coordinator Brett Elliott will return to the Mississippi State staff coaching the quarterbacks source tells FootballScoop. Elliott served as co-OC / quarterbacks at James Madison for the 2015 season and then as OC / quarterbacks at Texas State this past season. Prior to joining the JMU staff, Elliott was in Starkville for three seasons as part of Mississippi State's staff.

Fairmont State (D-II - WV): Fairmont State is currently accepting applications for a wide receivers coach. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. Sewanee (D-III - TN): Head coach Tommy Laurendine has resigned after six seasons leading the program to pursue other coaching opportunities. Laurendine was 15-45 in six seasons, including an 0-10 mark this past season.

Indiana State (FCS): Roy Roundtree has joined the staff and will coach the wide receivers, sources tell FootballScoop. Roundtree joined the Limestone College (D-II - SC) staff as wide receivers coach during the summer of last year.

De Anza College (JC - CA): De Anza College is seeking assistant coaches for the offensive line for the upcoming 2017 season.
