MIT (D-III): Defensive coordinator Brian Bubna has been promoted to head coach. "Although Brian was an internal candidate [he has been on staff since 2010], I believed we needed to conduct a thorough search to find the person who could best keep the program on a successful trajectory. We interviewed a number of very qualified coaches and through this process, Brian emerged as the leading candidate because of his understanding of MIT, our program and our student-athletes. He is well-prepared to take on the leadership role as the head coach and move our program forward." athletic director Julie Soriero said in making the announcement.

Southern Miss: Safeties coach Tim Billings is taking over the defensive coordinator duties, defensive line coach Derek Nicholson is moving to linebackers coach and is adding the duties of co-defensive coordinator, and Murray State (FCS - KY) defensive coordinator Chris Boone is expected to join the staff as defensive line coach, per the Hattiesburg American. Also, Jason Munz adds that Brock Hays will coach the tight ends moving forward, Les Koenning will coach the running backs, and tweets that Scotty Walden is likely going back to receivers coach after coaching the running backs and tight ends the past few months.

West Alabama (D-II): Head coach Brett Gilliland has signed new multi-year contract after leading the program to their first 10-win season in over 40 seasons. Gilliland has posted a 29-17 mark since returning to lead the program heading into the 2014 season.

RPI (D-III - NY): Nicholas Marcella is the new offensive coordinator at RPI, per source. He worked in a restricted earnings role there last year. Also, per source, Bobby Johnson, who served as a part-time offensive line coach at American International College (D-II - MA) last year, has joined the staff coaching the offensive line.

Kansas: Safeties coach Todd Bradford has left the staff for a reason that you don't see every day. 

Northern Colorado (FCS): In addition to the hire of Marty English (see below), head coach Earnest Collins Jr. has announced that offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Jon Boyer has been promoted to associate head coach, Jereymy Hayden is moving from running back to tight ends coach and offensive line assistant, Michael Armour will now coach the inside wide receivers, and Keith Grable will coach the outside wide receivers while defensive ends coach Brandon Maguire will transition to running backs. Also, quality control coach Garrien Johnson is being promoted to defensive ends coach, and safeties coach Woody Blevins has been promoted to special teams coordinator. Defensive graduate assistant Kyle Worden will now serve as the full-time video coordinator for the team.

Georgia: Kirby Smart has formally announced that James Coley will now hold the title of co-offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach, while Jim Chaney will move from quarterbacks to tight ends coach while retaining his offensive coordinator title.

Northern Colorado (FCS): Marty English, who coordinated the defense at Colorado State the past two seasons, has joined the Northern Colorado staff as defensive coordinator. English previously coached with the program for a total of 16 seasons, including two national title runs (1996 and 1997), and also spent eight seasons on staff at Wyoming.

Nebraska Wesleyan (D-III): Nebraska Wesleyan is looking for a home and home for week 1 of 2019 and 2020. Would prefer a D-III opponent, but would consider NAIA. Please contact head coach Brian Keller at 402-465-2354 or

Carthage (D-III - WI): Bill Lund is joining the staff as linebackers coach. Lund has over two decades of college coaching experience, and most recently served as the wide receivers coach / assistant special teams coordinator at Lake Forest (D-III - IL). Stops prior to that include Saginaw Valley State (D-II - MI) as the special teams coordinator and linebackers coach, Hope College (D-III - MI) as the special teams coordinator and linebackers coach, as well as stops at North Park University (D-III - IL), Columbia, and St. Norbert (D-III - WI).

Western Kentucky: Head coach Mike Sanford will handle play-calling duties this fall, he told the Bowling Green Daily News. Offensive coordinator/wide receivers coach Junior Adams will retain both titles.

Nick Saban: If you're waiting on Saban to retire, you might not want to hold your breath.

East Central Community College (JC - MS): E.C.C.C is currently seeking one volunteer coach/part-time student service assistant, preferably with Mississippi ties, for 2018-19 football season. All defensive positions will be considered. This is a 10 month position requiring competent computer skills (HUDL,and Microsoft Office). Duties will include working with student services and monitoring campus dorms. Alabama: Former Raiders quarterbacks coach Jake Peetz, who was rumored to be the offensive coordinator with the Colts had Josh McDaniels taken the job, has landed as an offensive analyst under Nick Saban, per multiple reports.

Kansas: Todd Bradford, who has coached the safeties the past two seasons for the Jayhawks, is leaving the staff for a job in the oil business, according to multiple reports.

Florida A&M (FCS): Former FAMU interim head coach Edwin Pata has accepted the head coaching position at LaSalle HS (Miami, FL), per source.

VMI (FCS - VA): VMI is currently accepting applications for an unpaid assistant football coach.
