Washington & Lee (D-III - VA): Head coach Garrett Lerose has completed his staff, per source. University of Mary (D-II - ND) offensive coordinator Bobby Jones will serve as co-offensive coordinator, Johns Hopkins (D-III - MD) wide receivers coach Eric Franklin will coach the linebackers, and Nick Perrotta (a defensive grad assistant at Kennesaw State) will coach the defensive line.

Garden City (JC - KS): Garden City CC has an opening for a linebackers coach / resident advisor. Ideal candidate will be passionate about working with students academically & athletically, hungry recruiter, either played or coached linebackers, and a great example for the student-athletes. Arkansas: Xavier Adibi, the linebackers coach at Garden City CC (JC - KS), is taking a position on the Razorbacks staff.

Tulsa: Carlton Buckles has been announced as safeties coach. He spent the 2017 season as the defensive coordinator at Division III Belhaven University in Jackson, Miss., and has previously coached at LSU, Delta State, Southeastern Louisiana, New Mexico State, North Texas and Baylor.

Georgia Tech: With his contract extension being finalized, Paul Johnson notes that he can see the end of his coaching career drawing near.

Assistant coaches: Bill Callahan explains the job of all assistant coaches. Those who fully buy into this usually succeed.

Cal Poly (FCS): James Jones, the defensive coordinator at Northern Colorado (FCS), has joined the staff as defensive line coach and Matt Taufoou, who previously coached the inside linebackers at San Mateo (JC - CA), will coach the outside linebackers, per source.

Moorpark (JC - CA): MC is seeking a part-time defensive backs coach. Only looking for interest coaches near or in the Ventura County. These position pay ranges around $6,500 per season. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting in practice and game planning, video breakdown and analysis with Hudl, recruiting, academic oversight, and coaching their own position group. Preferred candidates will have prior experience playing and/or coaching in the secondary. University of Chicago (D-III - IL): The University of Chicago is accepting applications for the position of defensive intern football coach. This individual will assist the defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach. This position is eligible for a seasonal stipend. No benefits or housing. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to: recruitment of student-athletes on and off-campus, on field coaching, defensive analytics, practice planning, video editing with Hudl, equipment tasks, and other administrative duties as assigned by the Head Coach. A Bachelor’s degree is required. Previous coaching or playing experience with the defensive secondary will be given preference. A successful background check will be required before work begins on campus.
