Notre Dame: Brian Kelly says he wants to retire at Notre Dame. But when?

Syracuse: Blair Cavanaugh, who spent the past two seasons as an offensive graduate assistant at Ball State, has been hired in a special teams quality control role, per source.

Sioux Falls (D-II - SD): The University of Sioux Falls has two (2) immediate openings for restricted earnings coaches on the defensive side of the ball. Assistant Defensive Backs and Assistant Defensive Line openings. Each opening includes an $8,000 stipend, no housing, no meals. Primary responsibilities include assisting the head coach in all phases of the football program. Other responsibilities include coaching a position, film breakdown, recruiting your own territory, graphic design and data entry. These are two entry level positions. Holmes CC (JC - MS): LaMarcus Gibson, who previously coached the linebackers at Highland CC (JC - MS), is joining the staff as associate head coach / defensive assistant, per source.

Mountain West: The league has announced the addition of Andy Seeley as associate commissioner, external communications strategy.

Dakota State (NAIA - SD): Tyler "Anvil" Sinsabaugh, who coached the wide receivers at Montana Western (NAIA) last season, has been hired to coach the offensive line, per source.

Mike Leach: Leach breaks down why he views the field in 30-yard increments, and why "If you can do it in high school, you can do it anywhere else."

Atlanta Falcons: The Falcons have announced the addition of Jess Simpson as their defensive line coach, and have announced that Bryan Young (who coached the defensive line last season) is stepping away to spend more time with his family.

Kentucky: Eddie Gran said Tuesday he indeed was offered Georgia's offensive coordinator job after Jim Chaney left for Tennessee.

Ferris State (D-II - MI): Ferris State University is in search for two quality control coaches. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: film breakdown, data entry, assisting with game preparation and other duties assigned by the head coach and defensive coordinator. Candidates should possess a working knowledge of, or be capable of learning the functions of Excel, Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Power Point. Anticipated candidates are individuals who are trying to begin a career in the coaching profession. This position will provide valuable experience and references for future opportunities. Southern Utah (FCS): Source tells FootballScoop Brandon Fisher has joined the staff as defensive coordinator. Fisher coached six seasons in the league, one with Detroit and five with the Rams.

Tampa Bay XFL: It's been widely reported for a week or so now, but the XFL has scheduled a press conference today and the Tampa Bay Times shares that it is to tab former Bears and Montreal Alouettes (CFL) head coach Marc Trestman as the new head coach and GM of the Tampa Bay XFL franchise. Update: The XFL has now confirmed the news.

East Stroudsburg (D-II - PA): East Stroudsburg is accepting applications for a full-time defensive coordinator. Bachelors degree is required, masters preferred. Miami: Manny Diaz has announced the addition of Todd Stroud, who most recently served as Akron's associate head coach / defensive coordinator / defensive line coach, as the new assistant head coach / defensive line coach for the Hurricanes.

Atlanta Falcons: Miami announced this morning Todd Stroud was being brought on staff (see post above) and that 'Canes defensive line coach Jess Simpson was leaving to take a position with an NFL team, and Bruce Feldman tweets that Simpson will be joining the Falcons as defensive line coach.

Missouri: Mizzou is looking to hire an offensive analyst. Interested coaches can submit their materials to HatcherA@missouri.edu.

Eastern Washington (FCS): Allen Brown, who accepted the secondary job at Sacramento State (FCS) back in January, has accepted the corners / passing game coordinator job at his alma mater Eastern Washington, per source.

Slippery Rock (D-II - PA): Allen Gant, who previously served as a defensive assistant at Michigan, has been named defensive backs coach for the program.

Illinois Wesleyan (D-III): Illinois Wesleyan University invites applications for a full-time,10-month position of assistant football coach (secondary / linebackers). Additional duties as assigned by the head coach and athletic director may also include serving as the Assistant Football Recruiting Coordinator, Strength and Conditioning and / or Student-Athlete Mentor/Advisor. A Bachelor’s degree is required, Master's degree is preferred and 2-4 years experience coaching at the collegiate level. Illinois Wesleyan University provides an excellent benefit package. Richmond (FCS - VA): Bobby Maffei has joined the staff as special teams coordinator / defensive assistant after spending last season on the staff at Baylor where he worked in a quality control role.

Tusculum (D-II - TN): Per source, BJ Ruis has been hired as the running backs coach. Ruis previously served as the offensive coordinator at Baldwin HS (FL).

Marian (NAIA – IN): Marian University is seeking applicants for an offensive graduate assistant coaching position. The successful candidate will coach an offensive skill position – quarterbacks, running backs, or wide receivers. College coaching or playing experience is required. Responsibilities include coaching a position, managing a recruiting territory, and other duties assigned by the head coach. This is a ten month position, start date is immediate, and includes housing, meals, and a stipend or graduate school. No additional benefits provided. No phone calls, please. Clemson: Joe Robbins has accepted the director of recruiting graphic design for Clemson football. Robbins spent the past few years as the lead graphic designer for Michigan State's football program.

Robert Morris (NAIA - Chicago, IL): Robert Morris is looking for multiple graduate assistant coaches. Both offensive and defensive positions are available. Compensation will include full coverage of graduate school tuition and a $5,000 stipend. Applicants must have a minimum of a 2.8 cumulative undergraduate GPA. Thiel (D-III - PA): Farrell Area HS (PA) head coach Jarrett Samuels has been hired as the associate head coach at Thiel, source tells FootballScoop.

Westminster (D-III - MO): Westminster College Missouri has an immediate defensive intern position available. To be considered for this position you must have a college degree and playing or coaching experience. This is a non-exempt position that pays $300.00 per month for 10 months and provides a place to live at no expense. Baylor: Former Baylor player James Blanchard is joining the staff and will work in the recruiting department, per source.

Trinity International (NAIA - IL): Per source, offensive line coach Anthony Franz has been promoted to offensive coordinator, and Vista HS (CA) defensive coordinator Chris Bonta has been named the team's defensive coordinator.

Western Connecticut (D-III): Western Connecticut State University is looking for an offense or defensive assistant football coach. Bachelor’s degree required. This position will be responsible for coaching a position, have a recruiting territory and other duties assigned by the head football coach. Playing experience at the collegiate level is preferred and coaching experience is a plus. No benefits provided. Independence CC (JC - KS): Independence Community College is looking a hire a volunteer / intern coach on both sides of the ball. These positions are UNPAID positions but they will come with HOUSING and MEALS. Looking to hire an Offensive Line Assistant and Defensive Line Assistant. Both coaches will have an opportunity to coach on the field, assist in their position meeting rooms and have their own recruiting areas. They will assist with the daily football operations under the Head Coach, help with our strength & condition program under our Strength & Conditioning Coordinator and help monitor our on campus housing. It’s a great experience for a young coach trying to get into the college coaching profession.
