Jon Gruden: After sharing last week that he's "preparing to come back" to the coaching ranks, Jon Gruden noted today via ESPN, "I don't forsee myself coaching anytime soon," before adding "But I do like getting as close to the fire as possible. All I really have going is football. I don’t know what I would do without it. I’m happy with what I’m doing. I study as if I am a coach. I still make my own breakdowns, I still come up with my own playbook — I just don’t have anybody to give it to."

Incarnate Word (FCS - TX): Incarnate Word (FCS) San Antonio, Texas. The University of the Incarnate Word is looking to hire a defensive assistant for the upcoming season. A Bachelor’s Degree is required. Prior coaching experience or collegiate playing experience is required. Experience with defensive backs is required. The Assistant Coach shall aid the Head Coach in the recruitment and retention of quality athletes. The Assistant Coach shall support the efforts of the Head Coach to maximize the effectiveness of practice sessions. Hamilton Tiger-Cats (CFL): Former Hawaii and SMU head coach June Jones ahs been named assistant head coach, the team has announced. Jones most recently served as the AD of Development at St. Louis HS (HI) a role he will continue with after returning early December, according to Bruce Feldman.

McMurry (D-III - TX): McMurry University has an immediate opening for a running back coach. This is a part-time position with compensation at approximately $1,000/month, housing, and some meals. Interested candidates can email resume to Hancock.jeffery@mcm.edu. No phone calls please.

South Alabama: Gordon Steele and Kyle Faxlanger will serve as offensive graduate assistants on staff this fall, with Steele working with the tight ends and Faxlanger with the wide receivers. Also, Drew Dunn will work as a graduate assistant on the defensive side of the ball (LBs) while Cory Sullivan returns as a grad assistant working with the defensive line.

College GameDay: College GameDay formally announced that they will be in Atlanta for the Week 1 match up between Alabama and Florida State to kick off the year.

ESPN: Tommy Tuberville will work with Mike Patrick calling games this fall, Ed Cunningham is out, and Thursday night games will work on a rotating basis among the analysts.

Central Oklahoma (D-II): Per source, two former Sooners have joined the staff as graduate assistants. Gave Lynn will work as a defensive graduate assistant, and Casey Walker will be an offensive graduate assistant.

East Mississippi CC (JC - MS): Cliff Collins, who previously coached the defensive backs for eight seasons before moving onto Jackson State (FCS - MS) as defensive backs coach, has returned as defensive coordinator, and Starkville HS (MS) offensive coordinator David Boykin has joined the staff as offensive coordinator. Also, former Ole Miss quarterback Bo Wallace has joined the staff coaching quarterbacks, and North Alabama (D-II) running backs coach Courtland Hays will coac the team's running backs. Cade Wilkerson, who coached the running backs the last few seasons, has joined the Oklahoma athletic department as a graduate assistant.

William Paterson (D-III - NJ): William Paterson University has an immediate opening coaching the running backs. This is a part time position that includes a coaching stipend. No meals. No housing. Malone (D-II - OH): Malone University is seeking an unpaid intern to assistant with the defensive staff beginning as soon as possible. This position will assist either the Defensive Line or Linebackers coach with practice duties and may have additional responsibilities based upon experience and qualifications. The intern will receive team apparel and an opportunity to travel with the team to away games in addition to the valuable experience gained through their work. Pearl River (JC - MS): Pearl River Community College is looking to hire an Assistant Football Coach/Video Coordinator. Prior coaching experience or collegiate playing experience is required. Experience with Tight Ends or Defensive Backs is required. The Assistant Coach shall aid the Defensive and/or Offensive Coordinator & Head Coach in the recruitment and retention of quality athletes. The Assistant Coach shall support the efforts of the Defensive & Offensive Coordinators & Head Coach to maximize the effectiveness of practice sessions. This position will be responsible for uploading practice film daily, making weekly highlight tapes, scouting reports, class monitoring, and Dorm Check duties. This job is to begin IMMEDIATELY!
