Houston Nutt v. Ole Miss: A federal judge ruled Wednesday to dismiss without prejudice Nutt's case against Ole Miss on grounds that the federal court "lacks jurisdiction" to hear the case. "Without prejudice" means Nutt's attorneys can re-file the case if they find appropriate jurisdiction (i.e. within the state of Mississippi). Update> Houston Nutt's attorneys issued the following statement (via Dan Wolken) "...We'd both like to congratulate the Ole Miss lawyers and hope they'll give some more thought to our settlement proposal before we refile in state court next week."
McMurry (D-III - TX): Bastrop HS (LA) assistant Johnathan Brantley has accepted the running backs position at McMurry.
Cincinnati Bengals: Marvin Lewis has returned to work after receiving treatment for a "minor health issue." "I especially want to thank all the doctors, nurses and technicians who treated me," Lewis said in a statement. "I am glad to be back with the team as we prepare to play the Buccaneers on Friday."

LSU: Former Jacksonville Jaguars wide receivers coach Jerry Sullivan has joined the staff and will work with wide receivers coach Mickey Joseph in an off-the-field role. Sullivan previously coached at LSU from 1984-90 and has previous stops with the 49ers, Dolphins, Cardinals, Lions, and Chargers.
Occidental (D-III - CA): Occidental College has an immediate opening for a defensive assistant coach working with the outside linebackers. This is a payed position for coaches looking to enter or have experience at the collegiate level. Candidates with prior playing or coaching experience are preferred. This is a time sensitive opening and local applicants are encouraged to apply. Occidental is located within 10 miles of downtown Los Angeles. Amherst (D-III - MA): Amherst College has an immediate opening for an entry level coach to work on the defensive side of the ball (salary and duration TBD based on the specific applicant). Responsibilities: Assist the Head Coach in all phases of the football program including coaching a position, film-breakdown, scouting reports, recruitment of student-athletes, and other duties to be assigned. Qualifications include Bachelor’s degree, a demonstrated ability to coach successfully at the college level, the ability to support the mission of academic and athletic excellence at Amherst College, as well as promoting diversity in physical education and athletics. SUNY Maritime (D-III): Jonathan Rijo has been hired to coach the defensive line and Michael Day will work with the defensive backs. Rijo played the past few seasons overseas in Spain and Australia, while Day was a member of Sacred Heart University's club football program last fall.
LA Valley (JC - CA): Former San Bernardino Valley College (JC - CA) head coach Jason VanDiver has joined the staff as offensive coordinator.
