McNeese State (FCS - LA): As we reported this morning, McNeese State has now officially announced Sterlin Gilbert as their new head coach.

Texas Tech: Matt Wells made it official today for 6 of his USU assistants. Joining his staff at Texas Tech are: Jovon Bouknight (outside receivers), Julius Brown (defensive backs), Steve Farmer (offensive line), DeAndre Smith (running backs), Luke Wells (tight ends / inside receivers) and his strength coach Dave Scholz.

Louisville: Source tells FootballScoop App State defensive coordinator Bryan Brown and quarterbacks / passing game coordinator Frank Ponce are both expected to follow Scott Satterfield to Louisville. Ethan Joyce first reported the expected moves.

Arizona Western (JC): The College has announced they are dropping football. College President Daniel Corr said the elimination of football was an "incredibly difficult decision." Corr continued, “We have a rich tradition and a legacy in football with fans and alums across the region and the country. At the end of the day, the challenges we faced to continue the program— with the uncertain future of the league, the difficulty in putting together a schedule, the inability to fund increased travel — were simply too much."

Missouri: Barry Odom's new contract (per Gabe DeArmond): $3.05 million per year through 2024. 9 wins triggers auto 1 year extension. Increased salary pool for the assistants as well. More details here.

Salaries: (some) Strength coaches are getting Paid....

Colorado: Mel Tucker's annual salary numbers added here..... Tucker has begun with CU and will not coach in Georgia's bowl game.

Green Bay Packers: On speculation Mike Shanahan could become the next Packers coach, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said, "I know he's retired. So, they'd have to convince him very hard to come out of retirement."

Boston College: LA Rams assistant wide receivers coach Liam Coen has passed on an opportunity to become BC's offensive coordinator, tweets Adam Rittenberg.

USC: It's official -- Kliff Kingsbury is USC's new offensive coordinator. The school has announced the hire.

Twenty-one assistant coaches made at least $1 million in 2018

St. Vincent (D-III - PA): Aaron Smetanka, a former quarterback and alum of the school, has been named head coach. Smetanka most recently served as the head coach at Greensburg Central Catholic HS (PA).

McNeese State (FCS - LA): South Florida offensive coordinator Sterlin Gilbert will be the new head coach at McNeese State, sources tell FootballScoop. Details here.

Michigan: Offensive analyst Ben McDaniels will coach the wide receivers in their bowl game. He steps in following the departure of Jim McElwain to become the new head coach at Central Michigan.

Charlotte: Will Healy will earn $700k annually, plus incentives and additional stipends, as part of his five-year contract running through January 31st, 2024, per Agent 49. Healy signed a new 4-year contract worth a sum of $860,000 last December at Austin Peay.

University of Indianapolis (D-II - IN): Defensive coordinator Chris Keevers will be promoted to head coach, sources tell FootballScoop.

Erskine (D-II - SC): University of New England (D-III - ME) quarterbacks coach Gage Hayes will be the new offensive coordinator, per source. Erskine announced earlier this year that they'll field a football team in 2020.

Depression: Vanderbilt head coach Derek Mason's daughter Makenzie penned an incredibly powerful piece for ESPN The Magazine about dealing with depression. Coaches, you should read this. Everyone should read this.

Texas Southern (FCS): Sources tell FootballScoop wide receivers coach Dallas Blacklock is the only coach retained by new head coach Clarence McKinney.

Green Bay Packers: Last night the team announced that associate head coach / outside linebackers Winston Moss had been let go. Calling out Aaron Rodgers on twitter might (or might not) have had something to do with the decision.

Oklahoma: An update on the names involved in Oklahoma's defensive coordinator search, and where things stand.

Maryland: Alabama offensive coordinator Mike Locksley will be the new head coach at Maryland, sources shared with FootballScoop last night. Locksley locked up the Broyles award yesterday as well, going to the top assistant coach in college football.
