Virginia: Bronco Mendenhall has promoted Vic So'oto to defensive line coach. So'oto worked with Ruffin McNeill last season. Mendenhall also announced the addition of Drew Meyer to the staff as a grad assistant working with special teams. Meyer was a punter at Wisconsin.

California: Cal has finalized Justin Wilcox's first contract. He signed a 5-year deal that will pay a salary of $1.5 million in 2017 and averages $1.9 million over the life of the deal, making him the lowest-paid head coach in the Pac-12. The full salary of the contract is guaranteed. Included in his bonuses are $325,000 for reaching eight regular-season wins and $25,000 for beating Stanford. Jon Wilner has the details.

Oklahoma: In addition to Lincoln Riley's new deal (see details below), OU has given raises and extensions to all of its assistants. Defensive coordinator Mike Stoops will make $870,000 inside receivers coach Cale Gundy, $430,000; offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh, $535,000; secondary coach Kerry Cooks, $475,000; defensive tackles coach Ruffin McNeill, $560,000; running backs coach/special teams coordinator Jay Boulware, $400,000; inside linebackers coach Tim Kish, $370,000; outside receivers coach Dennis Simmons, $350,000; and defensive ends coach Calvin Thibodeaux, $270,000. Stoops, Gundy, Bedenbaugh, Cooks and McNeill are signed through the 2018 season. Additionally, Bob Stoops has signed a 1-year contract with a 1-year school option as a special assistant to the AD that will pay him $325,000.

St. Lawrence (D-III - NY): St. Lawrence University is currently accepting resumes for the defensive backs/recruiting coordinator position. Position will be a full time position with benefits. Kentucky Wesleyan (D-II): Kentucky Wesleyan College has a full-time with benefits WR position open. The position is required to have full time responsibility coaching the Receivers and to coach a part of special teams. In addition to coaching responsibilities, candidate will be responsible for monitoring academics, recruiting, and other duties assigned by the head coach. Lock Haven (D-II - PA): Tyrone Young has joined the staff as defensive backs coach, Phil Hallahan as wide receivers and running backs coach, and Ty Traister as tight ends and fullbacks coach.

Michigan: Former NFL running back Alfonso Smith has joined the Michigan staff. He will assist running backs coach Jay Harbaugh. Smith played four years in the league (his final one was with Jim Harbaugh and the 49ers), amassing 55 carries for 175 yards in his career.

Wheeling Jesuit (D-II - WV): Wheeling Jesuit University has announced plans to launch a football program, beginning with an exhibition schedule in 2018 and a full schedule in 2019.

Utah: The University of Utah Football program is looking to a fill an Offensive Administrative Assistant Position. Qualifications/Experience: 3 years of coaching at the High School Level or above. Must have experience with XOs or Hudl as well as be efficient in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Powerpoint, Visio). The position will be a volunteer position.
