Arkansas: The University owes Jeff Long a buyout of $4.6 million, subject to offset from future income, reports Steve Berkowitz. More on Long's dismissal here.

Lindenwood-Belleville (NAIA - IL): Lindenwood University-Belleville is looking for two offensive graduate assistants. Must have a 3.0 GPA and able to begin work in January 2018. No emails or phone calls, please fax resume to 618-671-6119.

Lenoir-Rhyne (D-II - NC): Mike Kellar will no longer serve as head coach after two seasons, the school has announced. Kellar compiled a 6-15 record and 5-9 mark in South Atlantic Conference play.

New Orleans Saints: The Saints are adding veteran special teams coach Mike Westhoff to their staff today, according to Jason La Canfora. Westhoff last coached with the Jets in 2012 before retiring and has previous coaching stops with the Dolphins, Colts and at the college level with TCU, Northwestern, Indiana State, Dayton, and Indiana.

Trinity International (NAIA - IL): Head coach Kirk Wherritt has made the decision to step down after 8 years leading the program, and 10 years total at TIU. Sources tell FootballScoop that associate head coach / defensive coordinator Lamont Butler will step into the active head coaching role.

Jeff Long: College Football Playoff executive director Bill Hancock notes that Jeff Long will remain a member of the College Football Playoff selection committee.

Northern State (D-II): Offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Mark Martin and offensive line coach / recruiting coordinator Ben Ehret have been let go.

Alderson Braoddus (D-II - WV): Alderson Broaddus University has an immediate opening for a quarterback coach with potential to add coordinator duties. QB coaching or playing experience is required. Please send cover letter and resume to

Akron: By reaching bowl eligibility, head coach Terry Bowden has earned a bonus of $25,000, per Steve Berkowitz.

Central Michigan: John Bonamega has earned a $6,000 bonus for getting their 7th win and becoming bowl eligible, Steve Berkowitz points out.

Jon Gruden: Gruden noted on Mike and Mike that he hasn't talked with anyone about a return to coaching but "you never say never to nothing," and added that he isn't ready to say he won't coach again.

Florida: On the Buddy Martin Radio Show, Steve Spurrier noted that he believes the Gators will have "an excellent coach here in 3-4 weeks," and then added; "The coach is with his team now. The coach we’re going to hire is probably, I would almost 100 percent say is coaching his team today, this weekend, and through the end of the season, and maybe through the bowl game."

Missouri Valley (NAIA – MO): Missouri Valley College, located in Marshall, MO is seeking applicants for a graduate assistant working with the offensive side of the football. Compensation includes room, board, and tuition (no stipend). Position includes but is not limited to: working with an offensive position group (will determine based off of applicants experience), assisting strength and conditioning (S&C background a plus), assist with aspects of special teams, video editing (HUDL), managing a recruiting area, computer skills, and other duties assigned by the Head Coach.
