Zach Smith: The former Ohio State wide receivers coach was terminated this summer with no severance, according to CBS Sports. He had signed a 1-year, $340,000 contract to begin Feb. 1 of this year, but that contract was never executed. Even if it was, according to Ohio State, Smith was fired for cause and not owed a buyout.

Ohio State: Urban Meyer was docked more than $570,000 in pay as part of his suspension, according to documents obtained by USA Today, while Ryan Day banked an extra $487,000 for his stint as head coach, according to the Columbus Dispatch.

Safe to say Brian Kelly and Derek Mason disagree on the topic of cutting blockers.

Garden City (JC - KS): Head coach Jeff Sims has added the title of associate athletic director and will continue in his role leading the football program. Sims led the program to a perfect 11-0 season and National Title in 2016.

Washington State: Assistant athletic director, and former Cougars quarterback, Jason Gesser has resigned in wake of sexual misconduct allegations. Gesser previously served as an assistant coach at Idaho, where he started as running backs coach in 2011 before adding offensive coordinator duties in 2012 and he briefly held the interim head coach post following the dismissal of Robb Akey in 2012 when he went 0-4. In 2013, he was the quarterbacks coach at Wyoming before getting into athletic administration.
