Maryland: We are now hearing that former Clemson running backs coach / special teams coordinator Andre Powell has been offered the running backs job at Maryland.

Navy: Keith Jones moves from outside linebackers to defensive backs. Tony Grantham has been elevated from assistant outside linebackers to outside linebackers coach. Napolean Sykes will move from assistant defensive backs coach to assistant outside linebackers.

UCONN: Paul Pasqualoni will retain Joe Moorhead from the previous staff. Moorhead will now serve as the quarterbacks coach under offensive coordinator George DeLeone. Hank Hughes will remain with the staff and will serve as defensive line coach / assistant head coach. We hear former Clemson running backs coach / special teams coordinator Andre Powell has talked with Pasqualoni.

Dallas Cowboys: We are hearing that Jerry Jones is talking with New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton about becoming the GM with of the Cowboys' organization. Our source tells us that the Saints will promote defensive coordinator Gregg Williams to head coach if Jones is able to lure Payton to Dallas.

Texas State: Dennis Franchione has hired Rice University corners coach Jason Washington. Washington will coach the corners at Texas State.

Rice: We have learned that offensive tackles coach / run game coordinator John Reagan has been promoted to offensive coordinator. Wide receivers coach Larry Edmondson has added the title of passing game coordinator. Linebackers coach Darrell Patterson has added the responsibility of special teams coordinator.

Tennessee: We have learned Derek Dooley has dismissed defensive line coach Chuck Smith. Defensive grad assistant Peter Sirmon has been promoted to linebackers coach. Lance Thompson, who coached the linebackers this past season, will move over to defensive line.

Green Bay Packers: Mike McCarthy will receive a $500,000 bonus if the Packers in the Super Bowl.

Alabama: We are told that former Miami (FL) special teams coordinator / tight ends coach Joe Pannunzio will join the Alabama staff in an off-the-field role.
