Richmond: The Spiders finished the season 3-8 under interim head coach Wayne Lineburg. Today, the athletic director announced that a national search is underway and that Coach Lineburg will be allowed to interview. Quoting the AD, "A national search will enable us to identify the person who is the right fit to lead one of the nation's best FCS programs."
UMass: Sources tell us that head coach Kevin Morris is meeting with the athletic director tomorrow morning amidst rampant speculation that the University will make a change. UMass begins play in the FBS next season and is looking to generate "more excitement about the program and sell more tickets" we are told. UMass will compete in the MAC and will play their home games in Gillette Stadium (Foxborough). Morris has served as head coach for three seasons, going 5-6, 6-5 and 5-6. Prior to being named head coach, Morris served five seasons as offensive coordinator at UMass. He's a great person and a very good football coach.
Columbia: Norries Wilson has been relieved of his head coaching duties.
Fordham: The athletic director said that his search began last night and he says it will be a "timely" one. "In the next week or so we'll find out who's interested."
Arizona State: Sources within the program tell us that Dennis Erickson has told his staff that this will be his last season at the helm in Tempe.
Belhaven University (NAIA - MS): We hear that Belhaven now has two openings. We are told that offensive coordinator Ray Caldwell and defensive line coach R.J. Barrett have both left the program.
