Oregon State: Mike Riley stated tonight that he does not anticipate any staff changes. 

Charleston Southern (FCS): We hear defensive coordinator Thielen Smith will not return. 

Washington State: AD Bill Moos just released the following statement, "Paul and I met for an hour and a half this afternoon so I could hear his assessment of the season and where he would like to take the program from here. Our discussions will be ongoing."

Memphis: We are being told to expect athletic director R.C. Johnson to announce that he will retire this year and that a search committee will make the recommendation on the next head coach to the University's President (following Ole Miss example). 

Arizona State: As we reported last Sunday, Dennis Erickson has stepped down. We have been hearing for a while now that June Jones might wind up with this job, Sumlin will get a look as well. 

Kansas: Turner Gill has been bought out. $6 million. Running backs coach Reggie Mitchell will serve as interim head coach. 

Coffeyville CC: We hear the name to watch at Coffeyville is Aaron Flores, offensive coordinator at Itawamba. 

Illinois: Vic Koenning has been named interim head coach at Illinois. 

Sacramento State: Sources tell us Weber State offensive coordinator Matt Hammer interviewing for same position at Sac State. 

Illinois: Sources telling us Ron Zook has been released. News conference being arranged for later today. 

UAB: We have confirmed that Neil Callaway has been released. 

Memphis: Larry Porter has informed his staff that he will not return. 

Vanderbilt: We read that Vanderbilt's chancellor stated last night that James Franklin will soon receive an extension. Update> We're told the extension and compensation increase was agreed to last week. 

Waldorf College(NAIA - Iowa): Head coach Greg Youngblood has resigned. 

Central Florida: Defensive coordinator John Skladany and linebackers coach Al Seamonson both have been released. Director of player personnel Albert Boone has also been released. 

UCLA: After last night's 50-0 loss to UCS, AD Dan Guerrero said Coach Neuheisel would coach the team in the Pac-12 championship game this upcoming Saturday; but added, "This is a devastating game for us obviously." The Orange County Register is reporting that Coach Neuheisel's buyout is only $250,000. 

Washington State: The Seattle Times is reporting that "sources close to the situation" say head coach Paul Wulff will be dismissed, possibly as early as today. The Cougars finished 4-8 this season, their best record under Wulff who is 9-40 in 4 seasons. 

Akron: The same source that confirmed to us the Akron news on Tuesday has told us that Akron officials are targeting Jim Tressel. For what it's worth, Akron's facilities are considered "the best in the MAC".

Sacramento State: We hear head coach Marshall Sperbeck is interviewing a small number of candidates for offensive coordinator. Sperbeck called it himself this season.
