Happy New Year!

2011 Viewership stats for FootballScoop. Thank you for making it a record year!

Akron: We hear Mike Woodford will coach the safeties.

Illinois: Sources telling us that Seahawks quality control Luke Butkus will be the new offensive line coach for Illinois.

New York Jets: Mort is reporting that the Jets plan to "revamp" their offensive staff. He mentioned Norv Turner, Josh McDaniels and Bill Callahan as possible replacements for offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer should a move be made.

St. Louis Rams: Mort is reporting that both head coach Steve Spagnuolo and G.M. Billy Devaney will be fired.

Hawaii: Defensive ends coach Cal Lee has told he will not be retained.

Cleveland Browns: As has been discussed for weeks, the Browns plan to hire an offensive coordinator. Head coach Pat Shurmur served both roles this season.

Indiana: We have been told that former Arizona offensive coordinator Seth Littrell is joining Kevin Wilson's staff.

Penn State: O'Brien, his agent, Penn State, etc...are all now denying that he has a deal or is even close to

North Greenville (D-II - SC): We have learned that defensive coordinator Chad Staggs has turned down the offer to replace Jamey Chadwell as head coach and will be going with Chadwell to Delta State. We are told that both other internal and external candidates will be considered for the job now.

Penn State: We'll preface this by saying that we still really don't know how this will wind up; but the guys we have spoken with aren't sold that O'Brien gets the job.

Jim Tressel: For what it's worth, Adam Schefter stated this morning that Tressel is "on the radar" of at least two NFL teams.

Penn State: A number of media outlets (USA Today, NBC Sports, CBS Sports, ESPN, etc...) are stating that Patriots offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien is the leading candidate to be the next head coach at Penn State. We have not confirmed.

Arkansas State: Auburn offensive quality control Casey Woods is leaving to join Gus at Arkansas State.

UMass: We hear that Shane Waldron will coach the tight ends and serve as recruiting coordinator. Waldron worked with Notre Dame football from '05-'07 and has had a couple of stints with the Patriots. Separately, we have been told that Molnar is not taking any of the current grad assistants or quality control / interns from Notre Dame.

UCLA: San Diego Chargers linebackers coach John Pagano will be the defensive coordinator at UCLA and Seahawks special teams assistant Jeff Ulbrich will be special teams coordinator.
