Georgia State: As first reported Saturday, John Thompson is set to become the new defensive coordinator under Bill Curry at Georgia State. Thompson brings an impressive resume with stints at Memphis, Southern Miss, Arkansas, Florida, East Carolina, and Ole Miss.

Hartwick College: still needs a game for September 13th or September 27th next season.

University of the Incarnate Word: hired Nick DeBose as secondary coach. DeBose previously served on the staff at Texas A&M-Kingsville in 2007. He has also coached at Southeast Oklahoma earlier in his career.

Northeast Mississippi CC: should announce their new head coach this week. We'll keep you posted.


Lincoln University (MO): Jefferson City, MO. Invites applicants for two (2) graduate assistant positions (one offensive position and one defensive position) in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics in Football, beginning August 2008. Position Description: Graduate Assistantship, two (2) graduate level courses per semester, meals + housing, plus small stipend. Responsibilities: Assist the head coach/coordinators with all aspects of the football program. Knowledge of digital video editing system is also preferred. Proven integrity, leadership, and a thorough knowledge of the sport, along with strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and student-athletes having a range of backgrounds, interests, and perspectives is required. The successful candidate will be responsible for on-field practice/game activities, monitoring student athlete academic progress, equipment coordination and video coordination for the program. Minot State University (ND): Minot, ND - Has a full time defensive assistant opening starting August 1st, 2008. Duties will include: Assist coaching staff with day to day operations of the football program, position group responsibility (defensive), scouting, recruiting area, strength & conditioning, game day duties, administrative tasks and other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required, playing and / or coaching experience on the High School or college level preferred, experience working with video system would be very beneficial. Wagner College (NY): located in Staten Island New York, is looking to fill a vacant coaching position. Wagner, a member of the Northeast conference, is looking for someone with extensive experience to coach the Linebackers. This is a full time position with a 12 month contract.
