MIT: Head coach Dwight Smith has retired after 30 years serving as football coach at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Smith ended his career 102-159-1. He will remain on as a professor at the prestigious academic institution.

Syracuse: Former Northwestern and Colorado head coach Gary Barnett is interested in the head coaching job at Syracuse. Athletic director Daryl Gross is expected to talk this week with Barnett and Philadelphia Eagles assistant, Mark Whipple. Whipple has won a D1-AA national championship as the head coach at UMASS in 1998.
