Alabama: We hear Appalachian State linebackers coach Dale Jones and Iowa linebackers coach Erik Johnson are candidates to replace Kevin Steele.
Chicago Bears: Reports are that former Detroit Lions head coach Rod Marinelli will join the Bears' staff as defensive line coach.
Maryland: Sources tell us that former Wyoming defensive coordinator Mike Breske has interviewed at Maryland.
Minnesota: Offensive coordinator Mike Dunbar has resigned.
Presbyterian College: Sources tell FootballScoop that East Carolina assistant coach Phil Petty is the leading candidate to replace Bobby Bentley as head coach.
South Carolina: We hear that Steve Spurrier has offered the offensive line job to Illinois assistant Eric Wolford. It is unknown at this time if Spurrier will hire a quarterbacks coach or wide receivers coach to fill the other offensive position. We have heard the Spurrier has talked with a wide receivers coach over the phone, but this particular coach has not interviewed. We have also heard that Spurrier has spoken with East Carolina assistant Phil Petty, a former South Carolina quarterback.
Texas: Congratulations to Texas wide receivers coach Bobby Kennedy. His guys showed up in a big way last night in the Fiesta Bowl win over Ohio State. 3 weeks ago, Kennedy was named FootballScoop Wide Receivers Coach of the Year powered by Muscle Milk.
Western Illinois: We hear Western Illinois has a defensive backs job open.
Wyoming: As FootballScoop first reported 2 weeks ago, Rice wide receiver coach Dan Hammerschmidt and Montana offensive line coach Pete Kaligis have started their new positions at Wyoming.
King's College: (NCAA, Division III) located in Wilkes-Barre, PA, has two (2) Intern Coaching positions starting in August 2008. The job includes room, board, and a stipend.
